Hello world travelers, looking for fun things to do on the island. We're staying at Wild Orchid, Montego Bay. tia

Buy ditch weed from the locals that work at your resort.

We took a cab from Kingston to Bob Marley's tomb. fricking cab driver got lost and we ended up touring the damn countryside. Talk about an eye opening experience. Third world doesn't even begin to describe Jamaica just outside the major cities.

go to a strip club. the money there is worth the paper it is printed on and you can throw a dictionary's worth at the club

Take an excursion to the Luminous Lagoon. It was awesome!

When I was there we did the "dune buggy" excursion where you drive them through an old sugar cane plantation from the 1700s. It was a pretty cool experience. If I were to go back I'd do it again.

I'd suggest snorkeling and jungle River tubing. Two awesome excursions

Anyone know anything about the Runaway Bay area? Some friends are trying to get us to book a trip there later this summer to a resort there - Franklyn D resort, apparently they provide Jamaican nannies

Also, OP, have you booked airfare yet?

I’m in Jamaica right now for the 13th time, one week into a two week vacation, staying in Treasure Beach on the south coast. You might be gung ho on exploring but shite takes forever to get to due to a lot of the aforementioned terrible road conditions. So if you have anything specific in mind I can let you know if it’s worth the trip.

Dunn’s River Falls is very touristy, but the wife and I both enjoyed it very much.

We also did the Luminous Lagoon and found it overrated. I think It depends on the day how much it actually glows, and we picked a bad day.

Montego Bay isn’t a place you’ll wanna go twice. Negril is incredible and an hour away. If you’re going to Jamaica, at least pick a great city.
