30 regular season games in cape cod. He had 6 RBIs and 1 double. Batted a sweet .170.

I’m willing to bet his numbers will be improved now having been able to work with Eddie Smith.

No one expects him to suddenly rake but completely ignoring the hire of Eddie Smith is ignorant at best.

And at the end of summer ball in the playoffs of the Cape Cod League in six playoff games Hughes batted a sweeter .318.

Yes. He spent time with Kramer. He's ready to go.

He can just by hitting above .200.

As Vice President of the Hal Hughes Fan Club, I predict that he will do so.

Hell fricking no. Look, the guy just cant hit worth a shite. I hope he proves me wrong and I have to admit it, but I'm not counting on him improving, which wouldn't be tough to do at all with how horrible he was at the plate all last season. I would almost use our dh to hit for him instead of our pitchers and take our chances with them at the plate. Lol, he's just that bad.

We are weak at the plate and will be again this season...not in power but for average and for average with runners in scoring position

The posters here are not idiots. FACT: I was talking to a scout recently. He said Miss State has 3 potential first round picks. Second baseman was one of them and mentioned how strong he was. SS was another. SS is 6’3”.

What sums up our baseball program is the second baseman for Miss. STATE has gained almost 30 lbs of muscle since high school. Hal Hughes well not so much nor anyone else. Paul is asleep at the wheel and it’s obvious. i have no idea why we built a weight room for baseball.

Hughes has gained 13 lbs. since his freshman season two years ago. Daniel Cabrera has gained 11 lbs. in two years. In the three seasons Greg Deichman played for LSU he gained 24 lbs.

As usual, you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Assuming you are talking about jordan westburg and justin foscus? Ill admit foscue is a beast. But westburg hit .294 with 6 homers last year and struck out 69 times. Not sure thats a first rounder.

Lsu has 3 potential first rounders as well, maybe more....Cabrera, henry, jaden hill, hampton could be one day as well. So what the hell is your point?

Good. Hopefully both their SS and their 2B gained weight and lost range and mobility. Maybe it’ll create more holes up the middle for our hitters.
