May I suggest that it's possible to really like WW and point out his flaws concurrently...

I don't think everyone complaining about WW teams blowing leads and not using TO's is actually wanting WW fired. It's an obvious achilles heel for WW, it's really not debatable at this point.
With that said, WW will probably go down as the best ever LSU bball coach when it's all said and done.
I realize another thread on this topic was needed, happy to oblige.

No! You’re either all in and sucking at the teat of Will Wade or you want him fired. No in between.

Meh, this simply isn't true. May not he applicable to all fans by any stretch. But there are always going to be a number of idiots. I cant even count the number of threads I saw yesterday that said WW is the new Les Miles and everyone wanted him fired at the end sooo...
Read your post again and I guess you said not everyone wants him fired. Definitely can agree, but there are a large amount of idiots that did suggest he needs to be fired. But that will always be our fan base in every sport.

Him not using timeouts in the last possession of a game that is tied or that we are losing by 3 or less does not merit criticism. Him not using one before that when you have two left is a fair complaint

Just be consistent with CWW. How many games have we won by not taking a timeout on the last possession?
Posted on 2/9/20 at 11:06 am to The Mick
No timeouts at the end of regulation has been his way for the last two seasons because he trust his veteran guard at the end to make a play and I would assume they practice those situations. You win some and lose some in those situations.
Next year with a younger guard rotation, I can see him calling a time out to set up plays and make sure everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing. He did that more his first year at LSU.

He’s a great recruiter, motivator, teacher, and game planner. He struggles with in game adjustments and set play execution, but he’s still a great coach!

It’s a huge advantage for the defense when a timeout is used. That’s a fact no matter how many times the rant says it isn’t. And it’s fair to criticize any coach but our fans just completely overlook the fact that our coaches’ methodology has led to a 24-4 record over our last 28 SEC games after going 2-16 the year prior to his arrival. Not to mention we are 8-2 in the SEC after a 6 month long smear campaign that almost prematurely got him fired and partially ruined recruiting.
I could go on but TLDR a good segment our fans are spoiled and / or fair weather

No. People were not allowed to do that with Orgeron when he was hired so you can’t do that with Wade. You criticize Wade in any way and you are just a negatiger

He's a young coach. I'm not saying he is Coach k but go look at coach k's first few seasons at Duke. He is everything this program needs to be a sustainable top tier team in the conference.
But it's similar to people complaining about aranda. LSU was severely limited with their bass pass rush..... Yet people blame him 4 not being able to constantly pressure the quarterback
LSU plays aseven man rotation. Sure you can call a timeout here or there, but some of our guys are winded at the end of 40 minutes of intense play on both ends of the Court. Once days found out yesterday we had a six-man team.
It would be nice to roll out fresh defenders on guys who get hot...... We simply don't have any fresh defenders.
Most of yesterday's trolls are back in their cave, which is why this thread seems to be going reasonably

This. And many of the same ones that used to be quick defenders of O and calling people “negatigers” are the same ones that are ardent critics of Wade (looking at you stupid Pirate King or whatever your name is).

Agreed. But the funny thing, is this topic, like many other fallacies over the years, is a misperception.
How quickly people forget there are examples of Wade calling timeouts to draw up plays at the end of some games. It happened this season for Miss St. in which he drew up an action to free up Skylar and allow him to catch the ball on the move so as to maximize time and get him down court for a potential better look.
He also did it for the A&M game when Tremont took the 3 pointer in front of LSU’s bench to win at the buzzer. There are other instances too. Funny thing is that the shot by Tremont is actually not even what the play was designed to do; but A&M’s defense busted the play and Tremont just did a Tremont thing. So there is nothing wrong with letting your star players do star things. Sometimes it works out, other times it doesn’t. But rarely do plays drawn up at the end of games work the way they are supposed to. This isn’t Hoosiers movie basketball anymore where they can just run the “Ole picket fence” play at ‘em and it work to perfection.

I just seriously question when we are up with a little over a minute left and rushing to go down and shoot. Not only shoot, shoot stupid shots. Run the damn clock out.

All you basketball gurus please read.
A timeout also guarantees you play against a set defense. Not to mention, it allows the opposing coach to make defensive subs and an option to change defenses.
That being said, there is no right or wrong call here. You do what your philosophy is and what you do in practice.

Sorry for quoting all this but goddamn this guy gets it. Thank you sir for summing up what I was thinking

There were actually people saying the program is headed in the wrong direction and Wade should be fired.
Have no issue with criticism, especially after this week.

I didn't take issue with no TO, I know how WW handles the ends of games in these situations. I just would have liked to have seen better communication amongst the players on the screens that led to 3's for Auburn and Mays take the ball to the rim at the end of regulation.
It wouldn't have guaranteed a win but there were more options that could have led to a score by driving to the goal.

I don’t mind not calling TO when we have the ball on last possession. I think he needs to use them to halt momentum when the other team is storming back. I know he tries to let the players fight through it and solve the problem themselves as a teaching measure. But, I think he does that to a fault at times.
We definitely win a lot of close ones which is great. However, if we consistently blow big leads in 2nd half and leave TO’s unused that’s an issue imo, whether we squeak out the W or not.
