quote:

A pizza shop owner who tried to use humor to bring in the dough has taken down a billboard in Barberton, Ohio, after someone emailed the chain’s corporate office and local media to complain.

The billboard read “Fat People Are Harder To Kidnap” and displayed the phone number for the East of Chicago Pizza in Barberton.

Jeremy Clemetson, who owns the Barberton and Norton locations, said someone made a complaint about the billboard to the East of Chicago corporate office because of the relationship between human trafficking and kidnapping.

“I didn’t even think about it in that light,” Clemetson said.

No one thinks of it like that except social media types with too much time on their hands.......

He didn’t think of kidnapping and human trafficking in the same light? Does he live under a rock?

No, he probably didn't have the serious issue of human trafficking in mind when coming up with a harmless fat joke

I would think fat people are easier to kidnap because they can't run away without getting winded.

probably was thinking about the old fashion type of kidnapping, where they use to leave a ransom note, chopped out of playboy articles.

I guess I’m just entirely too conditioned by all the I-10 billboards blasting the dangers of the massive human trafficking market for me not to connect the two.

I think the joke is funny and would not have even thought of reporting it, I’m just surprised the owner was surprised someone reported it.

Probably should post this on the political board, for maximum outrage.

100% chance that the person complained is fat.
