US BLS says median is around 200k annually. That’s a lot of school for 200k

I’m OT poor but 200k is a lot + RVU + bonuses for working in shitty areas can push that into the higher ranges easy

Also pretty much every state has loan repayment programs for people going into primary care if they promise to stay in the state for X number of years, basically giving you free school

According to the OT welders make about 700k a month. There’s gonna be some let down young baws in welding school.

The welders you see running around in their own welding trucks (Rigs) make 225,000 to 250,000 per year IF they want to work.

NFL cheerleaders. They only make about few thousand per year.

Generally speaking, it is unusual for professional cheerleaders to earn more than a few thousand dollars per season. hour

A typical NFL cheerleader probably averages around $10 or less per hour over the course of a season. Many teams do not pay the girls to attend mandatory practice sessions

The average nfl employee makes about $29 per hour

Meanwhile, the average NFL player’s annual salary is over $2 million, according to Forbes

Pharmacists don't make as much as I thought they would

Pharmacists made great money 10-15 years ago but since the number of schools doubled and reimbursement tanked, it’s definitely not worth the school.

You’re lucky to make six figures, if you can even find 80 hours, for 6-8 years of school +\- residency. The BLS average has not caught up to the actual market

You could theoretically spend just 1 less year on school/residency than a family physician and make half as much

POTUS. I think salary is 400K. Which doesn't seem like much for the massive headaches involved.

I know some attorneys make good income, but a large number don't do so hot.

Movies/TV and law school admissions offices have done a phenomenal job of making it seem like everyone graduates pulling down $160k and booking weekly reservations at Dorsia. Here's the reality for your modern law student who graduates in the fat part of the bell curve:

- college from 18 to 24, come out with ~40k in debt
- law school from 24 to 27, come out with ~100k in debt
- get a clerkship in some podunk town paying 40k
OR
- get an associate job at a small 2-3 person firm making 60k
OR
- """hang a shingle""" making anywhere from negative dollaz to 1 million

Job market is over-saturated for a variety of reasons, salaries haven't really risen and benefits were slashed (just like a lot of other fields, I know), and the tuition/fees are higher than ever. The majority of kids I graduated law school with would have been better served going back for a second bachelor's degree in accounting or engineering, or going to nursing school.

I know all us lawyers on the OT graduated debt-free, order of the coif from Southern and made $17 million our first year from the Deepwater Horizon cases, but that is not the norm.
