You can't possibly say that a revolver has a worse trigger than a Glock, unless you really have no experience with decent revolvers.

Maybe I worded that wrong. Too much variability would be better. A revolver shoots much differently double action than single. Novice shooters benefit from consistency. With a Glock, every trigger pull is the same. Unless you short reset, which is a more advanced skill and you have to be conscious of it. Factor in the usually long trigger pull of a revolver, which is when shots can be affected greatly, and its just asinine to say they are better.

I like the Glock 40 cal. I have the 22 for home and the 27 for carry.

As someone who carries a 27 in 40 daily, it is NOT the best choice for a woman.

Heavy recoil, even with the extended mag to get an extra finger on the grip.

I would def. go 9mm in a full frame.

Buy one online and have it sent to Cherokee Gun and Pawn right off 575 exit 16 in Canton. Free FFL transfers.
And damn, Adventure Outdoors sure has changed since I last went like 10 years ago.
Also, you should at least check out the S&W M&P 2.0 Compact first. It's almost $200 cheaper than a Glock 19 and arguably better.

Gen 5 Glocks no longer have the finger grooves. I've had my Gen 3 19 since 09 and they never bothered me.

Okay if you go with the Gen 5 19 buy it online for $490. AO charged $540 and you'll have to pay tax too.

This is true. Every trigger pull in a Glock feels like garbage. That's why the first thing everyone talks about is changing springs to give it a better trigger, and at the same time decreasing their reliability. If you want to compare triggers than nothing beats a 1911 trigger for consistency and short length of pull.

There is really no PERFECT gun for everyone. Sounds like your wife is a small framed woman and the 43X may be better suited for her. If you're going to the range for that dinner/range time thing see if you can let her shoot a few different models if you're set on Glocks.

Don't.

Get her the Glock she likes the most.

Someone doesn't own any newer Glocks.

The general consensus on this board is that the VP9 has the best trigger pull "for a striker fired pistol." In other words, the trigger pull on striker fired pistols generally sucks compared to other actions. Glock owners tend to get butt hurt when you bring up any weakness. Glocks are good guns, but they are far from perfect in design. They are perfect for government employees, since they are cheaper to produce and easier on the taxpayers' dime than vastly superior designs.

This isn't exactly a glowing endorsement.

You get an up-vote for that statement.

I didnt find the trigger to be anywhere close to bad. It had a typical glock trigger. It isnt great compared to a sig legion SAO, but it is far from bad.

I've never shot a VP9. The only striker gun I own is a shield 2.0, I feel like all the striker guns I've shot have the same trigger

I’d also look at the 48. It’s still slim like the 43x, but is a hair bigger from what I understand.

Between the 19, 43x, and 48, they should be able to find one that fits what they want.

I initially went for the Glock 19 myself due to many recommendations and my experience with them.

However we changed over to a Glock 48 due to how much better my wife is able to handle it, just fits her better. Something for you to consider.

VP9 has a really nice, clean break as opposed to Glock being kinda squishy going into the break. SIG p320 has a pretty clean break as well. Not as good as the VP9 but better than a Glock.

Yep, and if those are too big there's the Sig 365 and Springfield Hellcat that have smaller grips.

I have one. I wouldn't buy any striker fired pistol for the trigger. The VP9 is above average, but it feels like wet mashed potatoes compared to every one of my 1911s.

Lived there 94-03. Then 07 through 09 after the military. I'll probably be moving back from Jax sooner or later (either Woodstock or Kennesaw).
