What exactly goes into WAR? I've tried looking it up before but I can never find a conclusive way they come up with these numbers. And because of that I have a hard time buying into it

Babe Ruth? Cy Young? I guess I am missing what you are trying to say. WAR has it’s flaws but it is a great measurement to compare guys like Trout and a player that has already retired. If their was a stat like it for Basketball/Football everyone and their mother would use the stat to compare Jordan/Lebron etc. Most of the people that don’t recognize WAR don’t care to look into the many different ways it is calculated.
