Do some research. Red Cross execs have huge salaries and there have been online comments/stories as to how much of actual donations go to supplies needed.

Thank you for the offers of boudin, king cake, etc but we are good. I dont wanna spoil myself when some people are in need to basic items. Landry detergent for 1.

I don’t have an opinion one way or another on the Red Cross but this is not a good reason to dislike or not donate to a charity and percentage used for aid, etc. should not be looked at in a vacuum. Consider these scenarios:
Charity A:
Head honcho has a personal connection to the cause. Really wants to change the world and works very hard. Only draws a salary of 40k for her efforts. Manages to raise 1MM/year with a small mostly volunteer staff and 85% of revenue goes directly to the people who need it
Charity B:
Hires a fortune 1000 CEO who does not give a shite about the cause but has a massive Rolodex if rich friends and pays them 1MM/year.
Has 20 professional staff
Throws lavish fundraising events
Raises 20MM/ year but only 40% of that actually goes to the people who need it
Which is the better charity?

I was going to buy a sandwich for the old homeless lady that picks up trash at the local park, but I guess that I need to get priorities straight.
14 more days off work after the initial 10 days of holiday?!?!?!?! We have to help, or Honkus might have to tap into next year's China vacation fund to handle these unexpected expenses.
