How hard is it to keep your professional sports organization FAR away from anything and everything involved the words “pedophile” and “sexual assault”?
Not only that, but to offer support via PR assistance or god forbid money
And then to leave an email chain?!
I mean frick

This is what the prelacy of the Roman Catholic Church gives you. It's not a false church, but it is certainly impure, bordering on corrupt.

man how far have the cowboys fallen. used to be they expected to win the super bowl every year. Now their only metric for success is "what did the saints do?"

This is a big nothing burger. Jeez you guys are fricking acting like drama queens.

Nah. Protecting pedophiles or a complacent, corrupt church isn’t a nothing burger.

My comment has nothing to do with the Cowboys but in Texas we are Baptist and don't molest children.
Butt Hurt Much ?

They did not help cover up anything. They were approached about advising on how to handle the media when all of the accusations came out. And actually, it was just Greg Bensel.

One of the biggest pedophilia rings in the country happened to be in Texas

Only the Saints are dumb enough to think collaborating with the Diocese on anything other than going to church on Sunday is smart.

While there is current litigation relative to the New Orleans Archdiocese and clergy sex abuse, our comments are limited only to the scope of our involvement. The New Orleans Saints organization has always had a very strong relationship with the Archdiocese. The Archdiocese reached out to a number of community and civic minded leaders seeking counsel on handling the pending media attention that would come with the release of the clergy names in November of 2018. Greg Bensel, Senior Vice President of Communications for the New Orleans Saints, was contacted and offered input on how to work with the media. The advice was simple and never wavering. Be direct, open and fully transparent, while making sure that all law enforcement agencies were alerted. The New Orleans Saints, Greg Bensel and Mrs. Gayle Benson were and remain offended, disappointed and repulsed by the actions of certain past clergy. We remain steadfast in support of the victims who have suffered and pray for their continued healing.
Further, the Saints have no interest in concealing information from the press or public. At the current discovery stage in the case of Doe v. Archdiocese, the Saints, through their counsel, have merely requested the court to apply the normal rules of civil discovery to the documents that the Saints produced and delivered to Mr. Doe's counsel. Until the documents are admitted into evidence at a public trial or hearing in the context of relevant testimony by persons having knowledge of the documents and the events to which they pertain, the use of the documents should be limited to the parties to the case and their attorneys. If admitted into evidence of the case, the documents and the testimony pertaining to them will become part of the public record of the trial of the case.

Why fight to keep the said emails private, if they did nothing wrong...

Perhaps a former secretary and interior decorator who has been married three times and finagled billions out of the third marriage? A person who started the relationship that resulted in that 3rd marriage at the funeral of her future husband's wife? A person who has been the subject of 20 civil lawsuits over a 13 year period, beginning in 1987, for multiple reasons. A person once arrested and charged with theft of furniture from a client? A person who had a history of federal and state tax liens?
You can add not attending her own mother’s funeral to that litany of egregious behavior...
