Bank screwed up but why does this entitle this guy to sue them? Take your business elsewhere and move on with your life.

I'll wait to see what all the facts say before making a judgment call on this one.

Exactly

Banks are so highly scrutinized, they don’t act flagrantly as this guy is claiming

More likely, dude realized, “hey I just got this big check for filing a discrimination claim...why not get another one?”

If it's a savings account, reg cc doesn't apply and you can put whatever length hold you want. Assistant branch manager is about to be out of a job.

Exactly. Open the account, slap a 10 day hold on the deposit and sort it out after he’s gone. Dafuq was he thinking?

Now he’s gonna have another lawsuit check to deposit in his next bank.

The good news is they will know for a fact the next check is legitimate.

...And then he Jedi mind tricked the assistant manager into calling the cops on him?

The article says that the bank launched a fraud investigation...which means that they probably completed a Suspicious Activity Report and possibly filed it with FinCEN. Did dude initiate that too?

It’s pretty rare for a black man to have the police called on him for putting money in to the bank.

From the story, you don't really know. Maybe he wanted to get some money back from the check and the manager didn't let him and then he caused a scene and that's when the police were called.

Too many unknowns at this point. Maybe it's a shitty manager or maybe it's a shitty customer.
