you're a coastie, right? I'm in Long Beach right now

I haven't kept up with your thoughts on this - are you anti social distancing?

Hope all is well

Yeah I’m originally from Gulfport but I live in Rankin County just outside of Jackson.

Yeah I’m pretty anti-social distancing. I think entrusting the public to do what’s right is a better option than tanking the local economy.

I hope all is well with you and yours too

I gotcha. I don't have the same faith in the public that you do, but I certainly don't have all the answers, either.

We're all doing the best we can I think.

Be safe and well my 228 homie

I was working out at the park. People walking around the trail, giving each other adequate space, yet they just shut the park down. That’s not necessary. Less viral transmission there than anywhere else in the state probably.

People know it’s out there. They are wearing masks, they are washing their hands. It’s not perfect, but it’s certainly preferable to making over half the state unemployed overnight

Would you prefer if it was just the old and those with high risk factors be quarantined?

We've tried to let people act like adults, and the results show that people can't be trusted to do the right thing.

Why can’t it be a voluntary quarantine

The govt comes out and says this virus is bad for the elderly and unhealthy. Govt also says due to spike in cases, some people may also experience triage in the hospital because of this

Now everybody knows their personal risk. If you want to stay inside for months to let the spike and herd immunity happen, you can. If you want to take the risk of getting sick and hospitalized during the spike, you can

I truly don’t know why people have issue with this. Everyone gets to control their lives. Be super safe, or don’t.

I have yet to really here a logical argument against this. Just the “hospitals will be overwhelmed”

Yes, I know. So if you want, be extra careful with your lives during the month or two this spikes

Fantastic news!

You’ve developed quite the gallery here, cheering on your improvement. I think we can all see your personality come through on your posts, and speaking for myself, you sound like a great guy to know and I’m sure I’d enjoy your company IRL. I think this is why you’ve garnered folks here invested in your recovery.

Because without government mandated shutdowns, everyone will have to go back to work. When everyone goes back to work, infections will spike and hospitals will be overrun.

Because that wouldn't actually happen. It would basically be the "no action" scenario. And then the healthcare system gets overwhelmed and people who don't even contract the disease die unnecessarily due to a lack of resources.

Most people don't choose when they have a stroke, when they have a heart attack, when the get into a car accident or accident at work.

two of those you absolutely have complete control over

and that is on you personally to go out and about in that scenario
