LSU should have never been in the title game that year.

I think LSU actually winning the game proves that they deserved to be there. The loser, OTOH...

Who are you to give advice to Coach O? There should be no question about who that man hires. He’s proven that he knows how to put together a championship program in a short amount of time.

And a phantom illegal shift on a long jacob hester td.

Sec was deep that year. Wasn’t a dominant team but making it out of that conference was impressive.

Tennessee
Georgia
Florida
Alabama
LSU
Arkansas
Auburn
Kentucky

Crazy year in general that a 2 loss team was in the title game. The big east was maybe the second most competitive.

LSU could easily have lost 4 even 5 games that year. Les miles had a horshoe shoved up his retarded arse

Flynn and the offense became stagnant the longer the season went on. If Perrilloux doesn’t give them a spark in the SEC ship then we lose that game too.

rare, lucky 2 loss national championship where the two losses came from innovative offenses steam rolling our defense.

Neither of those offenses were innovative. One had a hot qb and the other had 2 of the best college running backs of the decade.

Arkansas’ gameplan against LSU was innovative or whatever you want to call it

Who else was running wildcat in 07? It was a gimmick, but a damn good one. So much so that everyone started copying them even nfl teams

I thought Houston Nutt was the one who featured the “wildcat” first?

...so your argument against Pelini is based on the ‘07 defense combined with a stagnant ‘07 offense?

Gus Mahlezahn was in his first year as an assistant at AR and brought the Wildcat to CFB. Meathead Pelini couldn’t do a damn thing about it.

Arkansas an innovative offense? They gave the ball to McFadden, Hillis and Felix Jones and ran for 385 yards. Casey Dick was their qb and he threw 18 passes to McFadden’s wildcat 6. Innovative? No. We did have injuries on the defensive front that day making life difficult when going against 3 future NFL backs.

So their all american running back had 6 pass attempts and you don’t find that to be unusual, innovative, creative? He never had more than 1 all year. Arkansas used the wildcat as a wrinkle all year. For LSU it was their game plan

Like i said, they had the backs, their line was bigger and they came in with a one of a kind gameplan. LSU’s line got whipped. Their LBs gave up plays overpursuing and then got flat footed as the game went on. It had nothing to do with game plan or scheme on pelini’s part

You're right. We should call the NCAA and make the 2007 national title vacant.

If Zenon didn't save his arse, Perriloux would have been just another top recruit that never accomplished anything at LSU.
Too bad his attitude didn't match his talent. What a waste.
