I doubt he’d be interested. Hasn’t worked in college in how long?

Missed that retirement party. Glad you won’t be making any decisions.

He can stay at Youngstown. Bitch this ain’t 2007. You better prove you deserve that money first. We’d be crazy to give him that shite immediately.

Agreed. If we are prepared to pay someone that, I’m not talking to Bo Pelini.

i agree based on monetary numbers alone regardless of ability and past stats/rankings. LSU messed up giving 2.5 to aranda. now they all want that. we have been good here with every DC since saban/muschamp with the exception of malloveto where miles fricked up royally.

i never thought aranda deserved 2.5 mill. look at his rankings. he never topped sabans D, pelinis or chavis.

we have the talnet to keep winning with a solid hire. but this is an arms race now. i do not agree with what a bunch of those DC's are making in the list i provided above.

who knows he may not even want the job.

That is the same tactics i use when offered for other jobs i either do not want or do not have time to do. I ask for a ridiculous amount and that makes them go away.

he is prolly happy at home there with family anyway.

My opinion, it isn't going to be Bo or Kris

Good. We can do better than both just doesn’t seem like there’s any imagination in this search at all unfortunately

If they’re being flooded with interest, I’d have to imagine there are better candidates than those two

There hasn’t been any imagination in this search by FANS. We really have no idea what the actual search has consisted of.

I am mixed on the Pelini for LSU DC - I think I am more against it, but in light of the above, that means he probably doesn't really want the job. LSU has the leverage here and WTF does Pelini think he is worth and by what justification, if this is all true.

You could start him at 650k and have incentives for increases. That would be a win for both sides, just to indulge the option of Pelini. Again, I kind hope this doesn't happen.

that is my conclusion also.

this tactic is used all the time in everyday life.

use it myself.

nah. he made 400k 12 years ago here. that is an insult. you have to use fair market value. the guy can coach. problem is most are over paid now. look at the list above. it is crazy. once you pay somebody 2.5 million who never had stats better than pelini or even chavis you are asking for it later on. guys will see themsleves as just as good. and demand that money.

you have to give 1.5 million unless you want a up and comer. then go from there based on performance. doesn't matter anyway now if he wanted 2.2 mil and up.

you get what you pay for. if we go real cheap under 1 mill it could be rolling the dice.

What candidates have a LB coaching background?

We need a new LB coach right?
