Luke Fickell at Cinncy was a great LB coach. Never given a chance at OSU to be DC. He would be great.

Wait, what? You think Luke Fickell would leave Cincinnati to be the DC at LSU? Hilarious. He turned down numerous SEC HC jobs this offseason.

I would love to get Glenn Schumann at Georgia he's young, can recruit and only makes $550,000 as co-defensive coordinator.

Glenn Schumann
Glenn Schumann is the inside linebackers coach for the Georgia Bulldogs, and he was Kirby Smart’s first hire at the University of Georgia.

Smart and Schumann worked together at Alabama under Nick Saban.

Schumann is considered a fast-rising star in the coaching realm. Having just experience at Alabama and Georgia, he’s young but very good at his job. While at Alabama, three coaches were in the defensive game-planning meeting: Nick Saban, Kirby Smart and Schumann. That should tell anyone all he/she needs to know.

As the Director of Player Development at Alabama, his responsibilities included off-the-field activities of Alabama’s football student-athletes serving as an important resource in balancing the demands of academics, athletics and community outreach.Schumann was also involved in the organization of all recruiting efforts.

We've got to hire a DC who can stop the spread and RPO offenses. Especially with Lane Kiffen and Mike Leach joining the SEC West. Which DC's have done well in the PAC 10 and Big 12 shutting down these new offenses?

Kevin Steele did pretty well against LSU's historical offense.

Yeah we only had 503yrds against his defense, SMH, did you actually watch the game/ It wasn't as close as the final score. red Zone struggles and turnover and a late score by Auburn made it look closer than it was. Between LSU, Alabama and Minnesota all losses his defenses gave up 1512 total yds. The game we struggled the most and nobody is mentioningit, because the final score looks better is the Miss State game Bob Shoop's,(not recommending him),defense held us to 396 total yards.

So you want someone like John Chavis ? He did well against the spread while here....Stopping the spread is more about personnel..need a fast athletic defense

If it's a college coach being hired as DC, it's possible the announcement will come right after signing day so that school's pending recruits are not spooked.

With only a couple of spots open LSU isn't really at risk waiting this out, at least from a recruiting standpoint. Plus we're about to go into a dead period.
