NOLA cops have had a reputation for being rude assholes ...nothing new.
I am not against cops, but COMMON SENSE takes the situational conditions into consideration.
This sounds in large part like a "POWER" issue.....
I am not saying that OBJ was right, but the cop is the PROFESSIONAL and professionals are held to a higher standard.

A. It is the public policy of this state to protect the health, comfort, and environment of the people of this state.

Has anyone pointed out that it is an Affirmative Defense to arse slapping if you yell "Good Game" afterward?
Does the video catch whether or not he said the get out of jail free phrase?

Of course I was. They are 2 totally different situations.
Do yall always go up to cops and slap them on the arse for doing a good job or is this just weird to me?

And it is our AD's job to get in front of the story and have already reached out to the guard. How this postgame stuff has been handled is extremely disappointing.

EXACTLY!!!!!!11!!!!
cops shouldn't go after someone for stealing a candy bar or a bra from victoria's secret because there are REAL CRIMES being committed.

I would suggest that when you walk into the victors locker room you consent to victory slaps on the back, pats on the butt, head rubs, high fives , etc.

Good!!!!! Charge his dumbass! He's a puke!

Again; I’m condemning both Odell and the security guard. You seem to only want to focus on Odell like he’s the one that caused the guard to be a douche. Both Odell and the guard escalate the situation.
Watch the video again. The cop isn’t just asking him to put out the cigar politely. He starts asking Lewis to move his stuff around almost in effort to search. Like why is he even asking what’s in his Powerade bottle?
I think both the guard and Odell are idiots and this is blown way out proportion.

OBJ.......if you are reading this thread...just turn yourself in dawg. It will be ok. But it is time to stop running!!!!
Posted on 1/16/20 at 12:57 pm to LSU_Smash_the_West
I can guarantee that if it was the Saints Super Bowl winning dressing room that All of the players would have been allowed to fire up cigars with no issue. The cop was an a-hole.

Cop shouldn't have been in the locker room. Only reason he was in there was to kick out Ezekiel Elliot who didnt have a pass
I'm confused. He should have been in there to kick out Zeke or shouldnt have? He is employed to police the Superdome so he can probably go wherever he wants. That plastic badge gets him access.
OBJ is gonna have to pony up to make this go away. That poor security/cop is probably the laugh of all his work buddies. Charges and impending lawsuit makes all that go away.

A couple of videos show him looking at their drinks and stuff. Why was he even in there? Looks like he was trying to find something wrong? Make a name for himself?
I didn’t go through the whole thread, but is it common place for a local PD to go through the locker room celebration trying to enforce city law/ordinance?

This is completely unnecessary. I look at the video and pictures of the celebration and I see the unbridled joy and how happy OBJ and everyone was. There was real genuine happiness. Not we have people getting all technical with arrest warrants. That is just stupid.
What is next? Battery charges for an attaboy slap on the arse by an opponent after a big play?

Like I said, if I'm the NFL I'm dropping NOLA from the Super Bowl rotation because of this.
There was NOTHING to warrant harrassing anyone in the locker room.
So they were smoking stogies; send LSU a bill. "Smoke endangering the health..."; we've seen delays because nobody could see through the fireworks smoke from team introductions before. Did the fire marshall come shut things down?
It's about having the slightest inkling of time and place; this was neither.
