Well according to that technicality then why aren’t all major league players arrested? I see these assaults on camera all the time. It’s disturbing!

The reporter who got slapped and grabbed was on camera but she had to go to the police to file charges.

You are at work or walking through the store with your family & a random guy that you don’t know runs up & slaps your arse

You are just going to laugh? Seriously?

Let's say instead of in the store ,
you are in the locker room during the postgame celebration after they just won the national championship.

Are you truly shocked if someone slaps your arse or sprays you with champagne/beer/coke/whatever?

Nobody in that room (other than Deputy Dog) was in any type of confrontational/aggressive mood. Everyone else, OBJ included, was in "I love everybody and everything" mode.

Guy just way over the line. If anything, send LSU a bill to recarpet the room, etc.

Sorry, there is zero reason for police presence in there.

Look, Lt. Pierce was being a douche to our players for celebrating the greatest season in CFB history, but OBJ is an idiot for slapping an officer on the arse. I guess Pierce’s husband got jealous, since they’re just now pressing charges, and this happened three nights ago..?

Should the security guard be fired for not doing his job? He got “assaulted,” and did nothing.

Why didn’t anybody warn Odell or escort him out the building? Sounds like he was a maniac all night long.

What technicality? I asked a question. Those symbols at the end are called question marks.

You see people slapping a cops arse all the time while they are trying to perform their duties?

What did he do?
He inserted himself into the celebration in the first place.

If this was the Saints, team officials and owner would be saying "get that arse-clown the frick out of our locker room right now", if he came up and harassed Brees or Thomas for smoking stogies.

You know, it is possible to have a situation where two people are acting like absolute tools and end up getting blowback for it, regardless of who was a tool first or which one was being a bigger tool. Could this be one of those situations?

When did I say ball boy or that they should address Odell? I see reading comprehension waved bye-bye to you long ago. I said coach or administrator and I was referencing the policing of the cigar situation.

You want to come on here and lambaste Odell but you know damn well they are both in the wrong. What the cop did was not common sense and likewise for Odell. If they were both in front of me I’d call them both dumbasses and tell them to grow up.

Also; get over yourself with the smoking cigars in the locker room. It was clearly a coordinated celebration after winning the National Championship. If you toe the line that much with every rule in life; especially with extenuating circumstances; then I don’t know what to tell you.

They cannot press charges on behalf of someone for a misdemeanor crime. I can beat the shite out of you on video, but if you do not wish to press charges and put your name down as a victim, there is no crime.

Except for the fact a law was being broken

No matter how petty you or I think it is, a law was being broken & he had a right to enforce it

Let me translate that for you. I think he's saying that team players, coaches, refs, etc. pat each other on the butt all the time.

He wasn't being cop specific.

The security guard was doing his job. All he was doing was telling the player that smoking was not allowed. He seemed to be pretty respectful about it. OBJ was an arse and embarrassed him the slinked back like a coward when the guard turned around.

It wasn’t an act of endearment or playing. He was clearly trying to demean him and show disrespect for his authority. It’s unfortunate that this gets more attention as is the cash giving instead of celebration of the team’s victory. But, that being said filing charges looks pretty weak. An apology from Beckham should suffice. And charges should be dropped.

The guard MAY make 30K per year.

I hope he takes 500K from OBJ in a settlement.

Because he is an idiot that inserted himself into a situation that could have been settled with literally extinguishing a cigar.

bullshite. He was playing with him. It wasn't like he ran up and walloped the shite out of the cop. He was clearly fricking with him. Bad decision, but he was doing shite drunks do.Likely he will pay in some fashion.
