Tuas not playing next year

There's an article this morning stating that he's expected to throw for scouts in April. I doubt he's doing it from a wheelchair, so if he's got enough mobility to get out and drop back and throw in april then it's a pretty hot take to say he won't be ready to play at all next season. I don't think he's the week 1 starter, but to guaranteed a "redshirt" year is equally as stupid. He's been walking around unaided for weeks now, yet half this site acts like he got his leg amputated. The 365 days mark from the injury is week 11

I mean they can easily frick this up though. Do not put it past the Bengals to take a sure thing and absolutely destroy it.

I guess people have a lot more faith in Roethlisberger coming back and looking good than I do. I think they will maybe be mediocre again next year, but their 3ish year timeline is a mess. They have a good coach and GM though, so that makes hugely better than a lot of bad teams I guess.

Jets also have a bad coach they are committed to keeping and their cap is already tapped. They won’t have a ton of ways to get talent and depth in unless they start hitting really often in the draft.

Walking around is a lot differently than a 240+ LB or DE blitzing off the edge at full bore and crushing him in the hip.

Which is why I’m not touching him in the first. Some idiot NFL team will though.

Jets have the 9th most Cap space heading into this offseason.
I agree the coach sucks though.

No one can succeed for the Bengals long term with Mike Brown as owner. It is just not possible.

I feel bad for Joe. If he went almost anywhere else I would have full confidence in his success.

Did everyone forget how Benson was viewed before Brees?

Marvin Lewis did.

Couldn’t win a playoff game but he had them built well for a decade

If you call that success, I guess. I don’t.

But for the Bengals I guess that is pretty good.

It's a measure of the structural flaws with the Bengals that the Marvin Lewis decade of being decent is the most stable and successful period in team history.

Even in the 80's, the Super Bowl runs were sandwiched between sub .500 seasons.

You don’t get to say this when you’re comparing them with the Bengals. Their history isn’t much better

True.
People on this site think he is better than Brady and Brees as of right now.

They can tag him if they want. Realistically the Bengals can keep him around for the rest of his significantly useful years if they want.
Franchise tag for a WR is $18.4 million. Steep price for someone that's missed almost half their team's games over the past 4 seasons due to injuries. Too much injury history and wrong side of 30. They need to spend their cap room on upgrading the OL

He's better than Brady.

I mean Brady is 42 with obviously a failing arm and inadequate athletic ability.
Burrow is in TOP shape with a rocket arm and dead eye precision.

That assumes that there are worthwhile OLinemen to bring in with that space (Bengals have $49 mil and could generate more).

It very well could be worth it to tag Green because it’s a 1 year deal. If he doesn’t pan out you have that money in 2021. If you overpay a bunch of FA Linemen who fail you are going to pay for a few years.

This isn’t really an either/or situation. The Bengals should do both.

The Bengals run with Marvin Lewis looks like a dynasty compared to the best portion of the last 20 years in Cleveland.
