I moved here five years ago and love the comments I get when wearing my LSU gear. Today at the grocery store:

“You sure have balls wearing that LSU sweater in here”

“That’s a good team on your shirt right there”
(Gamecock fan)

“Booooo”

Someone says to my son: “You’re cheering for the wrong team!”

“Geaux Tiegas!” In a low Coach O voice

When I’m leaving I see a lady with a bunch of purple and gold balloons and a # 9 balloon. I’m relieved I finally find one of my peeps...and say Geaux Tigers! She laughs and says it back. I’m actually a Bama fan she says but my 5 year old is obsessed with Joe Burrow so I got him these for the big game! Pretty cool.

Anyway, a little bit of everything but LSU is on peoples minds up here

Rouses in Ponchatoula had people in purple and Gold everywhere. They're also selling #9 kingcakes.

Why are there so many Clemson fans in Greenville? I figure Ole Miss or Moo State, maybe even an Arky. But their local TV is still Monroe. I just don’t get it. Sorry.

At least they watch college football there. I’m in Washington DC. If I wear LSU gear people think nothing of it.

I live in Greenville now too. I’ve only found one other LSU fan, but I’m slowly converting those I’m close to.

My bad. It’s obvious I don’t know squat about South Carolina. I couldn’t name one city there if my life depended on it. But that’s my ignorance not yours. Geaux Tigers

Was in Charlotte yesterday for a work thing. Accidentally got in an argument with a clemson fan about the game. I really don’t give a shite about discussing sports in the workplace. But she was doing the whole “woe is me no one ever pick clemson to win shtick” combined with “LSU hasn’t played a team with an offense and defense like clemson, Bama wasn’t good this year because tua was hurt”. So I suddenly found myself saying that wasn’t really fair and refuting her and she got incredibly defensive and it turned into a really awkward conversation/argument.

Why are clemson fans like this?

Just left town today!!!

Surrounded by Clemson co-workers, friend, neighbors, and church members - love Greenville, but ya, that fan base is unbearable at times.

Been wearing my purple and gold for 15 years now, but this season has been extra fun - I hear there is a watch party at barley’s, but fortunately I’ll be at the dome!

Coming back to work Wednesday wearing purple and gold no matter what but hope it’s with a giant championship grin on my face!

Well welcome to Greenville. Hope you are enjoying it here. Been in parts of the upstate all my life but college years. And that’s a lot. Lot has changed here since my youth
