In my humble fat opinion, BBQ in BR is.... not good.

BRQ is surprisingly pretty good but the price is pretty high.

TJ Ribs is okay if your standards aren’t too high.

My favorite bbq “in town” is Big Jakes out in St Gabriel. But they have odd hours and when they sell out of something for the day, they’re just out.

ETA: Inspired by this thread, I went and ate at Hannah-Q today. I was very pleasantly surprised. Not knock your socks off bbq, but definitely a solid choice in the BR BBQ desert. Definitely will be going back.

Not that hard to slow smoke Q. Has to be some place in BR that makes decent BBQ

It's always been a pretty lacking area in BR for some reason. BRQ is pretty good but priced a bit high for BBQ. TJ Ribs is decent but nothing great. There's a little dive called Bayou Smokehouse that's ok but it's just takeout. A half decent Texas BBQ chain would kill it here.

Open a Rudy's in BR and it would change people's lives.

It would also make a shite ton of money.

Yep. Even something like Rudy's would print money. We have good restaurants in most other food categories.

We do, but a good Jewish deli would be nice.

I like the BBQ place next to Garden District nursery, on Gov't. Parking is a pain, but it's pretty good by BR standards.

I do the 3 meat + 2 sides at Wholefoods. $16-17 I think. It ends up being two meals for me.
