Dreamland didn't make it here a few years back...I think people here just like to barbecue at home with a cold beer...

Was that where the bulldog is now? They must of been open for less than a year. I barely remember that.

There was one on Government Street years ago across from BR High. It was OK.

I haven't been in probably a year but last time I went it was good. I just had a brisket sandwich though.

Went to Bayou Smokehouse on Inniswold, just off Jefferson. We had eight of us that sampled a variety of items. Most thought it was pretty good. I had the brisket and pulled pork combo with 2 sides and drink, both meats were good and the quantities were too much for lunch.

We do, but a good Jewish deli would be nice.

Most Jewish deli's aren't that great outside of heavy heavy jewish areas.

What's up with Barbosa? They seem to cook a few times a week.

That's because it sucked. I went to the original Dreamland in Tuscaloosa years ago and it was one of the best meals I ever had. When I moved back here in 2004 and saw there was a Dreamland, I couldn't wait to try it. I went to dinner there with a good friend of mine and his now ex-wife the Friday night after my first week here. The meal was so disappointing, I damn near cried.

Deep South BBQ, on Plank near Airline. Great ribs and chicken.

I also Jonesed for Dreamland, but the local version waay oversalted the meat. It needed to close..

I go to Sonnys for a quick fix, but if time allows I get the ribs and chicken at Jims Smokehouse on Hwy 19 in Baker. Ribs are great, but the smoked chicken has the best, deepest smoked flavor I've found around here.

BRQ is surprisingly pretty good but the price is pretty high.

They have been surprisingly terrible both times I have been.

Hopefully you have been more recently and they have stepped up their game.

I've only had Hanna Q as catered lunches, but those ribs were awful. Seemed to be boiled, no way I would put that quality of meat out there. Only good thing I've had from there was their Gouda Mac and cheese.

Nothing in or around BR is even close to touching Texas BBQ. If you want actually smoked ribs/BBQ you just as soon get you a good pit and diy.

Is this permanent?

He had the best Louisiana “Texas” brisket I’ve had here, closest to Pecan Lodge in Dallas and Smitty’s in Lockhart.

The only thing I have found consistently good at Hannah Q is their pulled pork egg rolls.
