Coming home from a walk around the neighborhood and this dog next door sees me out of the window and is barking like mad.

The bastard jumps through the glass and is on a dead sprint straight at me. First thought was to run, but he was going too fast and there were no cars around for me to jump on.

So I stood my ground in the middle of the street and Tried to keep a clear head, still on a dead sprint he leaps into the street and opens his mouth, where I deliver a well placed adidas straight into his grill.

He runs off a bit and gives me enough time to grab an oak limb from the yard. I was pumped up and ready for his next attack cause I was about to kill this bastard. I feigned like I was gonna come at him and apparently he’d had enough, so he runs to his own back yard with his tail between his legs.

After calming down from my initial solution involving a shotgun, I called the cops to report and 10 min later neighbors come home and ask why their window is broken. I explained what happened and recommended they put the dog down and told them I called to report but don’t wanna press charges or escalate. Wife was cool about it but husband didn’t really say much. He’s a young vet and apparent it was his “support animal” and wife said he was upset about the situation when he went back in to board up the window.

Cop Shows up and was cool, said since it was the first reported incident he can’t legally have the demon killed, and said he’d have them make sure it can’t happen again. I urged that had I been a child or older person I’d possibly be dead. He agreed but said his hands were tied.

When is enough enough with this damn breed?

tl;dr: pit jumps out window and gets kicked in the face

Your best bet as an Aggie would have been to get on all fours and take it.

No charges to press and the cop makes no decision about the dog being euthanized.

My nephew in-law (married for my niece) is a vet.

He hates Pit Bulls.

You'd think his dog would be better behaved.

I couldn’t imagine living around such abject trash as to have one of those mongrels

Me too. Thanks. I’m just glad it was me and not a kid or elderly person.

That’s a scary situation for anyone. This is exactly why I carry a fixed blade knife when I am out in the neighborhood with our 2 yr 10 month old. My plan is if something like this ever happens to let the dog lock down on my left arm and do my knife work with my right hand. Will be over very quickly.

It was at first. Didn’t know I was capable of logical decision making so quickly. When I decided to stand my ground the only thought was please god don’t let this be a German shepherd.
