If you can run this defense, you stop the other team. Simple as that.

The defense?

Pressure the QB with 4 rushers.

Our OLine has been tremendous this year. And we have yet to face a team that can pressure with 4.

Bama used to.

Auburn was the closest to it this year.

Clemson does not have the horses for it.

LSU 47 - 28.

We saw this past Sunday what pressuring the QB just in general will do. You have to get it done with 4 and yes, Auburn came the closest this year I agree. I don't think Clemson has the horses this year like Auburn did.

Joe Burrow will eat you alive if you bring more than 4. They will more than likely try to bring 3 and drop 8 in coverage with multiple disguises.

Just to confirm: you expect the #1 scoring defense in the nation to hold LSU to 1 point below their season average and give up the most points since 2013 vs FSU.

Ya'll realize that a healthy Clemson defense is a bit different than a bad OU defense that is missing 2/3 of their starting secondary, right?

It's been a long time since I've seen a fanbase so confident in their offense after having their way with Oklahoma. Almost a full 12 months...

And don’t look now, but LSU is peaking in their ability to get QB pressure with 4, due to RL and GL reaching full health after working through significant injuries from early in the season.

The rules of the game have changed a lot to favor the offense in CFB and the NFL. The rules favor the offense a lot more now. Can you imagine how many targeting penalties the Dome Patrol or Merton Hanks would have been responsible for back in the day? Defenses were taught to be intimidating and take out QBs and WRs. They don’t have that fear in today’s game.

This is very true.
I am a little shell shocked from the Saints game because they rushed four and plowed the Saints O Line which had been considered the best in the league all year.

Thankfully Danielle Hunter isn't suiting up for Clemson

its why pass rushers are coveted as much as QB's so, duh...

and they got a taste of their own medicine last year when clemson had 3 first rounders on their DL... its the difference between last years clemson and this years.. i even predicted clemson would beat Bama last year soley because of those 4 guys

because they had two phenomenal dudes. Brown will be a stud in the NFL

not this year, but their LB simmons is the best in the country.

Umm.. did you not watch the Auburn game?

This is why Auburn was able to hold us in the red zone. Having said that, Clemson can't do this, they don't have the dudes up front.

I've been telling everyone this since the SEC Championship when we were being told Georgia was the best defense we will face all year. My question, was can they rush 4 and get to the QB and drop the rest in coverage?

You are spot on, the only way to beat our offense is to rush 4 drop the rest in coverage, and rely those 4 to get to the QB.

Auburn had the guys for it, and held us to 28 because of it. I don't see any similarities in Clemsons defense to Auburns.

Wrong. It's the PREVENT defense. It prevents that team from winning the game.

I have thought for a while that is the way to try and stop LSU but LSU can make them pay running the ball.

That’s not really a “defense”.

Hell you could just change it and say the best defense is the one that shuts out every opponent.
