I watched Brokeback Mountain for the first time recently

This was actually a damn good movie. I did a double-take when I saw that Ang Lee directed it. Heath Ledger was a solid actor.
It was nominated for Best Picture, but somehow lost to Crash that year. I'm even more convinced that Crash is the worst Best Picture winner of all time.

You know that movie is about gay cowboys right?

Be honest. How many times did you change your shorts during the film

It was beautifully shot, well acted and captured each characters essence perfectly. It was emotional and moving.
It probably was best picture that year and def should have won over Crash. I don't recall the other nominees though.

It was a great movie, and should have won Best Picture.

South Park was right. Gay cowboys were actually a conceptual thing at film festivals back then. It's why they had the "gay cowboys eating pudding" spoof, long before Brokeback came out. I always felt like the whole thing was just a thumbing of noses at Texas cowboy W Bush, over whom the left was firmly into derangement mode.
I thought the movie was pretty good, though. I was sad for Ledger's character in the end. He truly had nowhere to go.
Also, the country singer in the bar scene is Mary McBride from Lafayette.

What did your boyfriend think of it?
But for real, Heath was just getting started. He was really a great actor who undoubtedly would have had more nominations in his life had he not died young.
He would have probably saved films like Suicide Squad for starters.
"Arthur" from inception.

In a brokeback mountain thread yes. you have to be. There's no 100% serious discussions about that film on here.

It was a very good movie. The try hards here will down vote and say things to make them sound edgy.
