Actual comedians like Jerry Seinfeld hate the current culture because “offense culture” means so many concepts are taboo that it is hard to be funny.
About the only left-leaning comedian I can think of who is funny is Chris Rock and it depends on how hard he pushes his Dem apologist bits in his act.

And that’s how far off the rails it’s gone.
PC culture was once fertile ground for comedians like Jerry Seinfeld. About 3/4 of his sitcom (maybe the most successful ever) was dedicated to lampooning political correctness. Now he won’t even play college campuses any more.

It's taken them a while to realize that dancing around so many special interest feelings meant that no good comedy was getting done (thus: no paydays). I also think Dave Chappelle coming out as hard as he did on his last special was a big signal to others that it's okay to push back against the soy Left, especially if you have the following to still get jobs whenever you want them.

I just think a lot of these folks are opportunists. They see the writing on the wall with respect to woke culture going the other way. Between Chappele and now Gervais not to mention the unrelenting pressure from Trump, Hollywood really is starting to believe in the, "get woke go broke" mantra.

The comics side of Marvel has been having “go woke go broke” issues for years, to the point where the distributors had to tell them to knock a lot of shite off IIRC. The movies are helping prop them up to a degree.
There really hasn’t been a post-Thanos MCU, though, because the only film released was a Spider-Man one and all their TV shows are cancelled with the exception of Agents Of Shield.

The true comedians out there believe in their role as social commentators who toe the line of acceptable behavior and challenge ideas. They made their livings doing it.
Now, they're being told certain jokes are too dangerous or too offensive and are being shouted out of clubs and off of Twitter.
I'm sure a lot of these guys (and rare gals) get together over whiskey and talk like this. It's nice to see that a couple are now saying frick it and are openly attacking woke culture.

The list is long of comedians who have spoke truth to power. This isn't anything new.
Comedians are cynical by nature and quick witted. I think the reason so many of them are clinically depressed is because they're the brightest among us and see through the bullshite. Hell, these comedians that work in Hollywood see both sides of the coin clearly. They see the corruption on one side, and their colleagues being neck deep in it on the other.
