Now I know that you guys have absolute faith in your offense to overcome these things and rightfully so. But we are going to scheme and slant and grind to slow you down - to make you make mistakes - a penalty, a TFL, a turnover, a sack - something that will decrease tour chances of scoring a touchdown. And we are going to play that for 60 minutes and see if y'all can stand up to National Championship pressure without losing your focus.

quote:

I think you have some excellent players on your defense, but this offense is so varied and explosive that no matter what you take away, there is something else just waiting to be exploited. There are playmakers all over the field and just when you think you got it all covered, someone you never heard of takes advantage.

At the helm is the best QB in college football. And he is going to distribute the ball to whichever playmaker that has the best advantage. He's cool, and calm, and relentless, unless you piss him off. And then he's likely to take the game over by adding yet another weapon - his legs. So pick your poison - ETN, Tee, Ross, TL, Rogers, etc. With all of our formations and playmakers - and TL at the helm, we will find the way to score more points than y'all.

Looks like you forgot to take emotion out of your post.

Reality is that LSU's offense is historic. Not just really good like Clemson's....historic.

Burrow is a better QB right now than Trevor Lawrence. The stats prove this. The eye-test proves this. The competition faced this year and the performance against the toughest competition prove this.

Anything you believe Clemson's offense can do to LSU's defense, the same can be said about the other side.

Also, don't look for Clyde to be sliding out as an outlet pass, he will be motioned out wide and a LB (hopefully Simmons) will be matched up on him unless you go dime like AU and UGA did to keep a safety on the field to spy him. If you do that, you will realize the same thing that UGA did. You don't have a DL as good as AU's to pull it off.

Lastly, we don't have faith in our offense. We have confidence. Faith would insinuate a belief in something unseen. We've seen LSU's offense play in more hostile environments and against competition just as good if not better and still hang half-a-hundred.

LSU will come to play. Burrow and the offense will do what it's done for 14 straight games this year. The question is, what will Clemson's offense do? I expect LSU to try and take away Etienne, so the game will rest on Lawrence to keep pace with LSU. If he has any inconsistency like there was in the last game, Clemson is in trouble.

Should be a good one, but don't for a second pretend that LSU isn't as good or as talented on both sides of the ball.

Which teams are you talking about? This could just as easily be flipped.

I've lurked here for a looong time and am not even native to Louisiana, but have lived in Lafayette for several years and am married to a die hard tigers football fan and alumni ...

I don't understand the comparison honestly.

Clemson has played highschool teams all season so I'd expect the team to be ranked near the top in every state on paper. Ohio State was nearly the same.

LSU earned every stat ...every single game starting with Texas.

Clemson was beaten on paper even after winning in the semi-final.

Honestly, LSU wins this game 7 or 8 games out of 10.

LSU is so good in fact observing a dropped or missed pass from burrow to whomever seems absurd. Typically, a missed play is due to an uncalled PI or another anomaly. The team simply makes difficult plays appear routine while other "good teams" are lucky to successfully complete one or two.

I've watched Clemson - they don't have "it" nor are they fun to watch.

Nothing rational about anything you said. You need to leave your emotions out of it.

From what I’ve seen of Clemson, you have a decent defense against a two point conversion on a terrible offensive play call.

While I agree y’all have a very good defense LSU played against three of the top defensive teams in the country. 4,9 & 20 and scored 125 points against them. We will out score y’all because our defense is finally healthy and looking to make a big statement

Then you write a thesis based on your feels.

I hope you have a really good support system after this game, it’s obvious you are severely emotionally attached to this game. Really feel sorry for you.

Remember that Venables coaches defense that couldn’t sub against OSU when Dobbins was hurt. You will see that all night.

Yes, that Venables.

Not only will this slow down your short passing game,

Stopped reading here. You haven't watched LSU play this year. Admit it.

Cool. But you weren’t honest. You left your emotions in it like you said you wouldn’t. It sounds like you’re saying exactly what LSU will do to you what they’ve done to every team(much better competition mind you). Dominate.

You lost the little credibility that you had right there. Took only 6 sentences for that to happen. Yes we have. Auburn, Florida, Georgia.

quote:

Competition adjusted statistics bear this out.

You did not play a top 25 team during the regular season. SEC's #8 team kentucky beat the ACC's #4 team Virgina Tech.

SEC's #4 team Florida beat the ACC's #2 conference running up and division champion Virginia. ACC is a dumpster fire. Your defensive stats are skewed. How can you and Clemsonards not see that. You played one ranked team, OSU and they put up over 500 yds of offense against your team.

Clemson is going up against the most accurate passer in the history of college football. Do you really think that is not going to come into play in the red zone? You got lucky with fields but we are talking about Burrow, the most accurate in the history of college football. Those red zone trips wont be fg like you think.

The problem with you Clemsonards is you think that your defense is all that in spite of the fact your team played nobodies all year and when you did, they put up 500 yds of offense against your magic defense. That is what you guys hang your hat on. That they are the best still, even though they played nobody all year and had the one ranked team you play put 500 yds of offense up on y'all. You all are seriously delusional.

quote:

OSU was convinced they had the talent edge all over the field & on paper & maybe they did. But they don't play the game on paper.

Watching that game, it is like you all were moving in slow motion. Literally.

quote:

I think our DBs will come up in press and we will keep safeties over the top. Not only will this slow down your short passing game, but it will put a larger number of people in position to blitz the QB from all angles. It also frees the LBs up a bit to corral the run and the outlet pass to CEH.

Sweet baby Jesus. Please blitz. Burrow is the best in the country at making people play when they blitz. He is 65% completion ratio when they blitz. If you blitz, he will make you pay and this game will be over with before halftime. You think Oklahoma got beat badly. Please blitz so we can leave more bodies on the field.

quote:

On the other side - Our offense vs your defense. This is where it gets fun. I think you have some excellent players on your defense, but this offense is so varied and explosive that no matter what you take away, there is something else just waiting to be exploited. No. Just no. You have a good rb, a good qb and one good receiver. Divinity and Stingley are the two best corners in college football. Then add your slow moving pedestrian offense, its not even close. Wait till yall get a load of shelvin.

quote:

At the helm is the best QB in college football.

This is where you lost the last of your credibility. You should be bitch slapped just on sheer principal for saying that. Just another example of how Clemsonards are idiots. Joe won the heisman and all the QB awards. Read this next part very slowly so you can actually grasp the magnitude of this. Joe Burrow is the most Accurate qb in the history of college football. You take the best QB's of all time in the NFL and understand that they have not accomplished that feat. None of them. Football is a game of inches and when your QB is the most accurate there was, there is and ever will be, you are going to lose that battle everytime.

quote:

And he is going to distribute the ball to whichever playmaker that has the best advantage

Wrong. Joe is the best at dissecting defenses. Need proof? Look at his stats against the blitz. He processes things a lot faster than your trans qb.

quote:

With all of our formations and playmakers - and TL at the helm, we will find the way to score more points than y'all.

Our D is going to give y'all offense a come to Jesus meeting when we in the Dome.

That Chic Lawrence is not currently on Burrows level. Saying he is on Burrows level is emotional and bears no reality.
