Will he become an atheist or will he repent and ask for forgiveness?

These jokes are stupid. Anyone making fun of a coaches/players faith is an idiot. Let them live

Except when you realize that the vast majority of players and coaches on teams opposing Clemson are also Christian (or at least Christian-Agnostic). So, by Dabo logic, God loves Clemson and its players/coaches MORE than the middling opponents they faced all year (including cancer researchers at Wake and Jesuits at BC).

It's not Dabo's religion that people are making fun of, it's the sheer arrogance, hubris and stupidity of (1) purporting to know the will of a higher power and (2) publicly stating that you hold special esteem in the eyes of that higher power based on success at a frickING FOOTBALL GAME.

Dabo is a douche and deserves all the shite he's getting. LSU fans aren't the only ones that think this.

It would be great if a reporter post game asked him why God chose LSU instead of Clemson.

Has Dabo ever said God wanted a team to win? If so I would like to see it.

Pretty sure he has never said that. Sure he gives thanks, just as he does in a loss that he is able to do what he does and loves.

This seems a strange post to try to ridicule a man on. He uses his platform to gove glory to his God. That is all. He has my respect for that and not cowering to vocal minority that tries to condemn it, i.e this poster.

So athletes or a coach who give God the glory are bad people? Then youre criticizing a lot of people including your own players/coach. Nothing wrong with thanking God. And God does bless people and make good things happen. That's why people pray. Does God change an outcome of a game? Dunno, I can't answer that. But, Woodlawn and when the game stands tall are true stories where God blessed the teams/situation. Same with Brandon Burlsworth. And you can't tell me Tebows amazing season with miracle finishes every week (broncos) wasn't from a higher power. Even ESPN broadcasters believed it.

"For me, personally, joy comes from focusing on Jesus other than yourself," Swinney told ESPN on the field immediately after winning his second National Championship game with the Clemson team.

He continued: "There are so many great coaches that are so deserving of a moment like this and never get the chance to experience it. To get to do it once and now to get to do it again, it's a blessing and it's simply the grace of the good Lord to allow us to experience something like this. ... All the credit, all the glory, goes to the good Lord"

quote:

"I said it two years ago and I'll say it again, this really not anything I've done," Swinney said during a news conference following the Monday night game. "It's not anything that our players have done. I think God has worked through us. Only God can do this. Hollywood movie, Steven Spielberg, whoever those producers are, they couldn't write this script. They really couldn't. Only God can do this and I give him all the glory.

And one more absurd one for good measure...

I know I'm going to meet Him one day and He's not going to pat me on the back and tell me how many wins I had,

You know it doesn't work that way. God would never want the OTHER team to win. /s

Are they as stupid as a football coach thinking God picks his favorite college team?

The question to which I responded wasnt about what YOU think. You are not relevant to the discussion.

The question was whether Dabo ever said God wanted him to win a game... I provided a very small sampling of quotes from Dabo (many from the moments immediately following football wins) in which he did exactly that, either explicitly or implicitly.

You're right people are dense nowadays... it appears reading comprehension is one of the causes.

Link? And as someone said above, where are the links where dabo says God picked Clemson to win over other teams? Alot of twisting by some people.
I don't see you guys ridiculing the cowboys for the open roof so "God can watch His team"
