"They all".. You mean the team? The team ignored it all and brought him. This is blip on the radar considered his past transgressions. They were intrigued enough to warn him not to bring an entourage. It was over before it started when he showed up with his crew.

Here is what AB KNOWS in his heart. There is no reasonable explanation for why a team wouldn't immediately want to sign him. Remember, the guy is mentally ill. He obviously hasn't personally acknowledged his sickness. So, to him, that doesn't exist. Once you realize that is where he's coming from, him searching for an explanation like "publicity stunt" makes a lot of sense.
