On OTB this morning. Coach speak, perhaps, but there it is.

Also commented that Damien Lewis is better off than they had expected but he won't practice this week.

And Divinity isn't officially back on the roster yet, but he says everything is in line for that to happen this week.

Joe hasn’t officially been offered anything in the NFL, so I’m sure he does expect Brady to be a tiger. But that can change very quickly

Offer Brady more than what the NFL could. This guy was instrumental in our success and we can’t just let him go.

The thing to remember is that it may not be just about the money. Sometimes wanting to progress to the NFL or to a HC means making moves when the opportunity comes. I’d love them to open the wallet for him but will also understand if the move makes long term sense for his career.

I hope O is correct. Brady has proven his worth.

Even if Brady leaves, O knows the formula for success. He will go out and get the coaches needed to compete well with our rivals.

But bigger fish to fry. LSU will be fine. Just need to finish this season off.

He also reiterated that they are a "step ahead" of other suitors when it comes to Brady. Guess we'll see what that means after the 13th.

The bottom line is in all likelihood we aren’t playing for a championship on the 13th if Brady wasn’t here. I think everyone can agree with that wholeheartedly.

People keep fearing he is going to the NFL. Where would he end up realistically that would be better than him staying another year at LSU?

Which head coaches will take the chance to hire a guy who has never been a coordinator to be one when he's only had one year of success?

I could be wrong but I don't see any head coaches in the NFL willing to do that this year. Next year maybe if he can keep the lsu offense moving.

I totally agree with this and I hope we get to keep JB, but there is also this reality-- Now Coach E has been exposed to the JB magic. That means that the magic is known and it doesn't have to leave just because JB does.

Hopefully we have some smart GAs up in that booth paying attention. Slinger can mentor the next Joe Brady.

Yes there is some truth to that but how instrumental is Joe Brady in the booth during games? No one really knows what’s happening in that booth. Steve may actually call all the plays down to the field but is he getting “suggestions “ from Brady throughout the game on what plays to relay?

I presume he can't join the team until we officially reach the next semester, which is probably when the next registration period begins or so.

he may consider a coordinator type position in the NFL to be a step up from college assistant.

Again people keep saying this and it's just not true. If that was the case why would any team pay to keep a great coach more than one year?

"...Well we got your playbook now run along..."

I'm not trying to discount E but it's fairly evident that Brady is who turned this offense in to a well oiled record breaking machine. Yes E helped a ton but E would only have so much success if Brady left. You keep great coaches like Brady because of their football IQ and ability to mold their schemes/playbook over the years.

E may have some success short term but I doubt it lasts long term because you need a guy like Brady who can put new wrinkles in to his playbook year after year. Again I am not trying to shite on E here, but thinking a coach can just get a playbook from another coach and keep the same level of success is not realistic. It doesn't happen very often.

At the end of the day, if we could only have him for one year, and that one year gave us a national championship, a Heisman winner, an undefeated season and the most prolific offense in SEC history...

...good luck Brady. It’s been a lot of fun. I wish you well in your future endeavors.

ETA: Whatever happens, O WILL have a plan. I trust that.
