Gowdy is VASTLY underestimating the huge disgust with the Democratic Party. Union members, minorities, even the homosexual community is seeing thru that party's agenda. 2020 will be a bloodbath for the Dems.

If the polls are telling you Trump is at 50%, add another 15! That will, most definitely, translate over to the the Congressional races!

Methinks Gowdy is making statements, like this, to get out the vote....

It does boggle the mind that Republicans seem to be having a hard time fielding strong candidates for many races. I mean, let's be honest. JBE is only Governor today because his opponents were Rispone and Abrams. The GOP sent in the "B Team" and got whipped.

We have a million people not running for re-election. Meanwhile, the Dems pretty much have everyone running again as incumbents.

I still fault the RNC in 2018 for running complete dumbfricks. The RNC is why we're in this mess IMO.

Probably. Mostly due to all the work they’ve done with gerrymandering lawsuits and immigration. They’ve quietly managed to flip a ton of districts in their favor without winning over any new voters through their typical shenanigans

Possible, but he may be trying to keep the base from getting complacent

If the US electorate votes the House to the Dems and the WH to Trump then they will have effectively canceled out their own votes. The Dem House will continue to investigate Trump and will fight to deny any Trump political victory such as signing helpful legislation.

We'll see.

Gowdy is one of them.

No way they keep the House without massive voter fraud.

I cannot imagine those 31 districts that voted for Trump in 2016 and then voted for dem reps in 2018 walking into a voting booth in 2020 doing the same thing. Trump wins those districts again and will gain at least 2/3 of the rep seats.

It will suck because we can accomplish a lot more in Trumps second term with both houses of Congress.

Had the GOP and Trump done anything with having both houses his first two years other than troll with their thumb up their arse we likely would not be having this conversation.

Not sure that either side would do anything other than bicker and pick fights just like last time.

They keep it by an extremely slim margin and all those squad commie bitches get re-elected.

Just being realistic. I hope I’m wrong though.

You can blame Paul Ryan for the GOP failures during the first two years of Trumps FIRST term.

Always start at the beginning. We keep hearing 31 districts, 31 districts, is it?

Trump, in an interview, said its more than that. There are many districts that he did not win, but were close, that have benefited immensely from his policies. His point was that the number of current dem seats at risk is greater than 31. Just look at some of the swing states and how his margins have increased, it includes districts he lost but is now polling in the lead.

As long as we get out and vote, and the govt puts some serious constraints on ballot harvesting, we will take the house.

He played golf with Trump recently. They are probably just trying to make sure GOP voters don’t get complacent.

Fire up the base and scare them to the polls. That’s all this is.

He owns a great deal of it but Trump does as well, it was a major opportunity squandered.
