I think Coach O was sending him a message: Don't Transfer!

He runs hard (always has).
However, those were HUGE holes he was running through in that paper defense. Before you anoint him as the next great back, keep the opposition in mind. I am of the opinion that Emery houses two or three of those runs. Athletically, Emery is the most gifted of the three backs behind CEH. He must either be extremely dumb, extremely undisciplined, or both to be so far down the depth chart.

So why can't they see the field, in your opinion?

No way they decide the starter for a playoff game based on that.

Who gets the first rep is pretty meaningless. They gave him an opportunity and he did well with it so he continued to play. The complexion of the game in real time dictates this.

Maturity, practice habits, competence. They aren’t to a point where they trust them.

I mean anyone that watches TDP & Emery run can see they are more talented than curry, right?

CEH with optimal blocking is different. He was really able to showcase his natural talents when he isn’t being hit in the backfield (like any back usually does)

Curry was fine last night but he left some yards on the field.

He had the least meaningful touches all season... he was getting his groove as the game was going.

Curry will be the back we need when we need that last drive in a close game to control the clock in the 4th quarter.

Curry has always produced and impressed when on the field.

This is absolutely not true. Last season he had 8 rushes for 2yards. This season, prior to this game, he had 22 rushes for 99yds. This season he’s looked ok but saying he “always impressed” is just wrong. I’m happy he played so well yesterday. His performance got lost in the Shuffle because of Burrow, but he allowed CEH to not play as much which might be a huge deal.

He was running with a purpose yesterday. Looked great.

He runs hard, gets hit hard, but jumps right back up ready to run at them again! I like this kid! He is a definite taker for next year, don't want to hear any transfer talk anymore!!

We had more running room yesterday than we’ve had all year.

Curry played great. Clyde would have had a monster game. TDP was going to break one if he had a few more carries.

If we have that kind of running room it won’t matter who plays RB.

I think he did very well but I wouldn't say he dominated. He hit the holes hard and got the yards that were there but I don't recall him making plays that he shouldn't have made except for that 20 yard scrum run towards the end of the game. 5.6 yards per carry is very good but in line with how our offensive line was dominating all game.
