Was the McGregor Mayweather the event of the decade?

You can argue it was biggest spectacle with 2 different sports going after each other. The hype, build up and speculation was insane. The event itself was not a circus, it actually was a serious sporting event.

The buildup was probably the biggest of the decade. So many people I know that don’t even pay attention to any combat sports we’re buying that fight or going to parties playing it.

One thing that really helped was the fight was actually entertaining for awhile and lived up to the hype. Unlike Floyd/Pac 5-10 years too late

It was an event, but of the entertainment variety and not competitive sport. It was arguably a total disgrace to the latter.
