Wanna say Testaverde played until he was 45

I remember watching him start like half the season back in 2007 for Carolina. He was so old but still had some game in him.

Cocaine

This thread is definitely a who’s who of Carolina Panther QBs.
Frank Reich started a couple games our first year
Chris Weinke jusr because he was like a 30 year old rookie
Brian St Pierre in 2010

Sheesh.

lol. Farve would have beat the Saints if the dirty cheating fricks hadn't cheap shotted him into a cripple. He was still crippled in his last year, but only came back because his teammates begged him.

frick Gregg Williams and ferret face Sean Peyton.

Brees definitely stayed too long. He started breaking Manning's records and people don't like it.

I can't believe more people haven't said Peyton Manning. He was atrocious in 2015. He actually got benched for the final 7.5 games of the season in favor of Brock Osweiler before returning for the playoffs (2 TD and 1 INT, 12.7 QBR rating in 3 games).

His 2015 line:

59.8% completion / 9 TD / 17 INT / 43.9 QBR

That Denver defense is in the conversation for greatest of all time. They carried a potato at QB to a Super Bowl title.

Don't forget post-2008 Jake Delhomme after Hurney gave him a 5-year extension a few days after he threw 5 picks against AZ

Mostly though in his later years he was mostly relegated to being a kicker....but then one day Madden needed him

Half the quarterbacks that have been mentioned (Rodney Peete, Vince Evans, Jim Harbaugh, Jon Kitna, Brian Griese etc.) never had a prime to begin with.

Actual answers

Joe Namath
Bert Jones
Dan Pastorini
Donavan McNabb
Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Eli Manning
Phillip Rivers
Jim McMahon
Joe Flacco

Kerry Collins with the Titian’s. Maybe Bledsoe with the bills. The Texans qb they got from the falcons. He might still be the backup for Atlanta now

I wouldn’t say he played way past his prime. Unlike several of the guys mentioned who hung around for years after they were no longer producing, Peyton’s production fell off a cliff. He went from a 101.5 QB rating in 2014 to 67.9 in 2015.

So while his last year was dog shite, this wasn’t Vinny Testaverde with the Patriots and Panthers or McNabb with the Redskins and Vikings. Peyton Manning was a top tier qb right up to the moment he wasn’t, then he retired.

I was coming to say the same thing. I believe the reason Peyton’s decline was so rapid is because his physical skills were never top tier to begin with. Never had the strongest arm, threw a bit of a duck, etc. His strength was in preparation, timing, anticipation etc.

Once his skills diminished slightly, they fell below a line below which would prohibit any kind of production and the results were telling. At a certain point, no amount of preparation will get the ball to receiver before a CB can break on it especially when they don’t have to respect any downfield threat.

Matt Schaub

TIL... In 2019, Schaub will earn a base salary of $1,030,000 and a signing bonus of $750,000 and career earnings thus far of $92,335,000.

Warren Moon probably should have hung it up while he was in Seattle instead of trying to hang on as a back up in Kansas City.

Jeff Garcia fell off a cliff after San Francisco. Had one good year in Tampa but mostly bounced around the league for the rest of his career.
