Wouldn’t go that far. The 68 Democrat Convention comes to mind. People spitting on our brave soldiers coming back home from hell, start of the overt communist movement in a major political party, JFK shot, RFK shot, MLK shot, Nam protests, Nam in general, Weather Underground, etc.

The 60s weren’t really as great of a time in this country as the losers from that generation try to make it seem.

You are mostly citing the late 60s. There is pretty stong distinction between the early and late part sof that decade.
Early 60s had all the good parts of the 50s with few of the bad. Didnt go to shite until 66-67 or so.

Any specific years you're trying to eliminate there bub?

Curly Hallman era.

Although, outside of that particular blemish, it was a lot of fun.

The late 90's was amazing. Malls were bustling, music was great. MTV was actually fun to watch. Internet sucked though, but was getting better. My biggest concern in life was whether or not Marilyn Manson really removed a rib so he could blow himself.

I thought that was the lead singer from Tool.
Either way, I forgot about that until just now

When Magic Johnson announced he had HIV in ‘91, that put a real damper on one night stands and college hook-ups for a few years.

They still happened, but AIDS was no longer a gay disease or the result of blood transfusions. It put the fear of God in a lot of people.

Also, from about 1988-1990 really sucked, as did the end of the 90’s into the 2000’s. So anyone that enjoyed the 90’s also has to experience very bland and generic eras that bookmarked that timeframe.

Plus, LSU football really sucked. It was so bad DiNardo was hailed as a hero for leading LSU to the Independence Bowl

Late 90's early 00's were cool. Acid was cheap and plentiful, so was ecstacy. Was a great time to party.

Pffft, this 80's place laughs at that statement.

You are correct. The "60's" started in 65, and ended in 1972.

If you were around in the '80s...this needs no explanation.

Newt Gingrich and the Republican Congress balanced the budget.

Clinton signed it.

You're welcome for the Civics lesson.

Murphy’s dollar calls. Sports/Fred’s. Drinking age 18 until ‘95 or so. Multiple clubs in Vinton, LA near the Texas border brought in plenty of East Texas women. Raves at the State Palace Theatre and late night at the Outer Limits in Dustin.

Crazy to think that raves in the 90’s are as old to modern day teens as sock hops were to us growing up.
