I thought my heart would be sated by an undefeated regular season, an SECC, and a Heisman

I thought I could rest easy and adopt an accepting, Zen attitude towards the playoffs.

Whatever may come, I told myself, this season has been joyous enough.

But I was wrong. I want to win the next two games so badly. We are so very, tantalizingly close to the ultimate triumph that has eluded LSU and its fanbase for over a half century: an undefeated national championship.

I hope we pound the Sooners.

Agree. Burrow and O have done this to us. We are not satisfied and we are coming. Golden years ahead.

The effect Brady has had on the program is palpable. Combine that with Aranda’s playmaking D and LSU will take on anyone.

After seeing how we’ve handled this schedule since the Florida game, have you considered LSU losing the next two games?

LSU isn’t losing to anyone this year.

I’m actually satisfied. Want to win it all, of course, but feel like we’re playing with house money in the playoffs. Go figure. Won’t be surprised if I start stressing out as we get closer to kickoff, though.

I think LSU will have many good years ahead. Will never go back to Les Miles offense and defense will be much better than this year.

Someone said if you ever hit a hole in one in golf you should quit.

Because, you have finally perfected the game.

But no one does, you come back for punishing defeats until you make another hole in one.

This is going to happen. The next game after that will be way more difficult.

I can’t every remember feeling this calm going into games. In the past I always knew that we would find a way to lose. But no more, this team led by Joe Burrow will always find a way to win!

I just don't think we're wired that way. We've had an undefeated regular season, an SECC, and a Heisman finalist before. The way that season ended, those accomplishments just seem to have faded away. History loves a winner. We just need to out and fricking make it.

We were kings not so long ago. I know what you mean but it really just feels like we've retaken our rightful place. They used to fear us. We need to keep reminding them why.

I remember sitting in Tiger Stadium and actually holding my breath when a QB would drop back to pass the ball.

Those days are gone!

The legacy of the team is secure at this point. They get a plaque outside the stadium next to the other SEC winners. Joe is getting a statue. There will be multiple national award winners who will get a plaque on the stadium.

The question now is if it’s one of the great seasons or if it’s the greatest season.

I'm usually pretty good with words and have a fairly decent grasp of the English language, but I've never heard the word "sated" before.

Is it a South Louisiana word?

Like every other LSU fan, I would love to see the Tigers win the national championship. This team deserves it for its efforts. This team wants to win that championship.

But, God forbid, a loss occurs . . . .

This team and its coaching staff should still be held in the highest regard. They gave me and everyone else a satisfying season.

I really, really, really hope that there won't be any "fans" who will come on this site and condemn a player or players, a coach or coaches, or all in the event we lose one of the next two games. I fear that there will nonetheless be a pack of utterly immature crybabies who will have to relieve themselves should we lose. And, that would be a damned shame. It would utterly detract from any goodwill this team has earned through the year with recruits, etc.
