Looking for someone to make me some burritos and tamales in BR area. Don't want to drive all the way to Mickey Brown's in Houma's. Anyone have any good recs (or one's to stay away from)?

mickey's were disappointing on my last go-round

Really? I haven't had Mickey's in several years but damn, they were great the last time I had them. Now I don't feel so bad that I'm not going there.
Canthandle, have you had Day's before?

I just got a whitetail and a blackbuck antelope processed at Leblanc's in Morganza. Very quick turnaround. They have a 5 dz minimum on burritos, so I got 2.5 dz of each, among other things. Those burritos are sooo good. They were $12/dz.

I get mine processed near deridder from a Mennonite butcher. They are fantastic and very cheap
Neighbor gave me some deer meatloaf he had processed from benoits in Addis and that shite was good. They mix it up and season it, all you do is thaw it out, put in pan, and put your toppings on it and throw in oven. It was damn good

I haven't had it actually, besides the burrito you are able to buy from the front store. (Which was delicious)

I've had Mickey Brown's, Days, Leblanc's, and Romero's. For convenience I'd go with Romero's. Good people and good burritos. Also good smoked sausage (I do pineapple/pepperjack). Leblanc's is great but from Denham that drive sucks.

I'm in BR, so Leblanc's isn't a bad drive

Did mine last year at Bergeron’s in Lobdell. They came out good. I only did burritos, not sure if they tamales.

Yea that’s gotta he Unruh’s. Do they do tamales and burritos? On that note does anyone in SWLA do tamales or burritos?

Any recommendations in the New Orleans area? I have one on ice that from last week that I need to get over to the processor ASAP.
I was going to take it to Gourmet Butcher Block, but they aren't taking any deer until January.

Guess you havent seen Bergeron's prices. They are even higher. Linked Green Onion Smoke Sausage is 3.70/lb vacuum sealed this year. before tax
FYI... Bergerons has been doing my processing for 5+ years and the quality has always been consistent. Not so much recently. Had to re-vaccuum seal over half my order, mis-labeled and not sure if I got everything I paid for. I will be trying some new places.
And I know I could do it myself, but time is always an issue!
