I'm not lying when I say that the Motwani's are a top 5 worst thing to ever happen to New Orleans. They have helped to completely ruin the FQ and Canal St.

For those of us who don't know about them, besides running crappy/seedy establishments, repping the Pels opponents, and raping 16 year old girls, what else are they infamous for?

They started buying up all of the properties on Canal St and in the FQ and turned them into incredibly tacky tee shirt and souvenirs shops, then started opening up even seedier strip clubs and have taken over spots and put in horrible tourist trap restaurants.

The bigger tragedy is not the t shirt shops, but the floors above them. They own a shite ton of historic buildings that most upper floors have had zero maintenance in decades. Their list of code violations are a mile long, yet they never seem to have to fix any of it. They are fire hazards and many will soon be in danger of falling down. With a neighborhood with the density of the French quarter, a bad fire or building collapse could take out a ton of other historic properties with them

But if there is a fire started by a “crazy hobo” to keep warm (wink wink) and the building becomes unsafe, they get to tear it down and hook up with a developer to put up a new hotel.
