Never seen anything like it .

Good for these pollsters not sticking to their preseason crap after the big wins Michigan had last week.

It's well earned for sure. Howard is doing work in Ann Arbor.

I love college basketball out of conference play - good to see them get rewarded for it.

I'm all for wild fluctuations in early season polls. There is no logical reason to give more weight to preseason rankings than a small sample size seen on the court. Both are severely deficient, but at least one is based on real life rather than perception.

Be undefeated and beating 2 top 10 teams in 2 days should do that, especially since John Beilein didn't leave the cupboard bare when he left for the Cavs.

They were lower than they should have been and are now getting the respect they deserve.

Good. CBB allows you to demonstrate who deserves what ranking relatively quickly.

It's nice to see the on court results matter, and Michigan has had a very impressive OOC run.

According to MLive.com, Kansas was unranked to start the 1989-90 season but jumped to No. 4 after starting 4-0 with wins over three then-ranked teams, including Nos. 1 and 2, so it's happened at least once before.

I believe one of those wins was at LSU.

Yep, you are right, I looked it up, LSU was #2, UNLV was #1, and St. John's was #25 and Kansas beat them all in a six day period.

UM plays at #1 Louisville tomorrow night too. Could be quite a run.

I’m not sure why they weren’t ranked to begin with, honestly. They’ve been consistently good the last few years.

I'm honestly not to confident about this game. We have been feasting on cupcakes and once again showing mental lapses late in games, letting big leads collapse.

If they beat the Ville tomorrow then they should be #1

This. The pollsters should be pointing and laughing at themselves right now.

UM was a Sweet Sixteen team last season and brought back lots of talent. It’s a mystery why they were not ranked in the pre season.

they have the best resume' in the country with wins over UNC and Gonzaga, one could argue they should be #1

A few years ago Uconn(I believe) went from unranked all the way to number 9 after cruising through the Maui invitational.

Obviously not as big a jump as this.

As was pointed out ITT. Has any other team ever beat 3 top 8/10 teams in a week (exclude the NCAA tournament)?

I fully expect Louisville to beat UM at home. I will always remain bitter about what happened in the UM/UL Natty game.

Couldn't have something to do with hiring a first time head coach.
