I wanted to provide some recommendations & answer any questions for those who may be visiting ATL for the SEC Championship.

Highly recommend using MARTA if you find yourself near a station and are needing to go to the stadium. Very easy process. Route map below

FRIDAY NIGHT - LSU Alum and LSU Atlanta Friday spots to meet for drinks; food and drink specials, and a portion of sales going towards Chapter Scholarship. Meet up bars below:

Establishment (Midtown)
Specials on craft cocktails, bourbon and beer. Outdoor patio, Live music until 9:30PM and a DJ later into the night.
Parking validation available

Park Bar (Downtown)
15% of the upstairs bar proceeds will be donated back to LSU Atlanta Alumni.
- 3-2-1 Special which features a triple for the price of a double in one souvenir Park Bar cup.
Abita product available at the Cash bar and Abita swag available.

Buckhead Saloon (Buckhead)
Abita product available for sale, Line Dancing with an Instructor from 7-10PM, Live Music by Daisy Dukes and Cowboy Boots and a Mechanical Bull starting at 11PM.

Atkins Park (Virginia Highlands)
$4 Abita draft with $1 per glass being donated to LSU Atlanta Alumni all weekend!

SATURDAY TAILGATE: LSU Tiger Nation will be tailgating downtown at the following bars: STATS, Das Bier Garten, Twin Skokers BBQ and Max’s Coal Oven Pizzeria, $10 cover charge gets you a wristband to all 4 locations, food and drinks available for purchase. All doors open at 10AM.

Tiger Nation Tailgate Tickets

Things to Do/See:

Georgia Aquarium (Downtown)
College Football Hall of Fame (Downtown)
World of Coca Cola (Downtown)
SEC FanFare at the Georgia World Congress Center (Downtown) LINK
The Battery - Restaurant/shopping/bar district attached to the new Braves Stadium. Solid options (Antico Pizza, El Felix, Live!, Terrapin Taproom)
Sweetwater Brewing (recently remodeled)
Painted Duck - bar with duckpin bowling + other games (West Midtown)

I rarely go downtown so less knowledgeable of the area. Would recommend checking out Midtown/West Midtown/Buckead/Beltline area instead. Downtown Atlanta isn't the best

Downtown Restaurants/Bars (near stadium)

Restaurants/Bars

Stats - 2 story sports bar/brewery near stadium, solid spot to check out prior to the game
Der Biergarten - German beer garden near the stadium
Smoke Ring - solid BBQ a few blocks from stadium
Hudson Grille - sports bar (local chain)

Midtown

Restaurants/Bars

Empire State South - American/Southern
5Church - New American
The Lawrence - New American/Solid Drinks
The Consulate - Tapas
Foxtrot - British-inspired bar, solid drinks
Establishment - upscale bar, solid drinks
Cypress Street Pint & Plate - Georgia Tech bar, tavern-ish feel, cool patio with solid food
Fado - Irish Pub
The Nook - Neighborhood bar with nice patio, known for their totchos (tator tots)
McCray's Tavern - Bar & Grill with solid food
Park Tavern - Solid spot with a huge outdoor patio overlooking Piedmont Park. Typically hosts the LSU Alum Crawfish Bowl

BeltLine/Inman Park

Restaurants/Bars

The BeltLine is a train track corridor that's been converted into walking trails that span across the city. Many good restaurants/bars have opened up in the area

Ponce City Market - Mixed-use development in the old Sears building, cool restaurants & shops (think Chelsea Market in NYC) with rooftop mini golf, games, and a skating rink
New Realm Brewery - Brewery located on the BeltLine, solid roof top patio with decent beer
Nina & Rafi - damn good pizza
Krog Street Market - An old factory that has been renovated into an open marketplace that has various stalls with different restaurants, bars, etc.

Buckhead

Restaurants/Bars

Little Alley - Steakhouse, highly recommend
Holeman & Finch - Gastropub, solid drinks
Storico Fresco - Italian
King + Duke - New American
Gypsy Kitchen/Southern Gentleman/Biltong - upscale rooftop restaurants/bars located at the Shops at Buckhead.
Tuk Tuk Food Loft - cool Thai restaurant, good skyline views of Midtown
Industry Tavern - solid food/atmosphere, located in Terminus building
Iberian Pig - Tapa bar
The Ivy - casual bar located in an old mansion, popular spot for recent college grads

Will continue to edit for additions, watch parties, specific events, etc.

Any recs on parking for the game? We are driving in and I see some lots available on the stadium website. Looking at them on Google Earth I think I'd be lucky to still have wheels/rims left after the game.

South side of the stadium can be rough. Just looked at StubHub and looks like they have some affordable parking options as well. You should be fine parking at the Gulch, Yellow Lot or Blue Lot. LINK

Another option would be to park at a MARTA station then take a train to the stadium. Not sure about the parking situation at the stations south of downtown but the Lindbergh station isn't too far away and has several parking decks

Last time I was in downtown Atlanta we secured one of the homeless as our guide with the added bonus of him chasing away all the other homeless who tried to approach us.

I'd take the train.

The station is attached to the airport so it's very easy. Just buy a ticket outside of the station and go up the escalator and get on the gold/red train.

If you're going straight to the stadium, get off at the Five Points Station and you'll get on a westbound blue/green train. Then get off at the first station, will be the Dome/GWCC/State Farm Arena/CNN Center Station.

Solid list. Honestly, the biggest change from the last time LSU played here is the development of the Beltline and Battery.

If you're day drinking, definitely do the Beltline. All of my friends from out of town love it. I'd add Lady Bird to the Beltline rec.

Torched Hop is a cool brewery too on Ponce.

Screenshotted that MARTA map for my trip this weekend , thanks!

Although, I don’t see Mercedes Benz stadium on the map? Is it just in the middle, near the big center circle, or nearest to another stop?

We’re staying in Sandy Springs. We’re trying to decide between riding MARTA in and out or buying a parking pass and tailgating.

The big white circle is the Five Points Station which is the transfer station for the 4 lines.

The map below shows where the stadium is in comparison LINK
