Ohio State will have an equal or better Strength of Schedule at the end of the regular season than LSU.

So there's that
.Not unless they figure out a way to change the teams on their schedule that they've already played.

I remember when you actually joined in 2007, and blew up this message board with a ridiculous amount of posts, and the same arguments. How did that work out for y’all?

The whining on this board about the current ranking is embarassing.

Then why is Clemson #3? Why is Utah #6? Why is OU #7? Why was Baylor #14 last week? Why did Oregon fall to #14 behind other 2 loss teams? Why was Minnesota #17 when they were undefeated?

Some of you need to quit being crybabies and actually look at ALL the facts not just cherry picking data points that support your team Being #1 or #2 doesn’t matter

No doubt.....and it's easier to get there playing Southeastern in September rather than Clemson.
What about Northwestern State? Where do they factor into your logic?

Playing those big time out of conference games might end up being the difference between making the playoffs as non SEC champ and getting left out.

Congrats on beating a Penn St team that lost to Minnesota LOL

You realize Minnesota is #8 right ? You are acting like Penn St lost to a shitty team like South Carolina at home

You think an 11-0 Cincinnati wouldn't be in the Top 10 right now?

They probably would be, but they would not be a top 10 team in reality. That is to say, they would still be a 7-5 SEC team.

So they would be Texas A&M?

You can figure it out.

tOSU’s OOC are ranked 19, 41, & 72 in the Massey Composite and combine for 25 wins. LSU’s OOC are ranked 31, 58, 75, & 80(FCS) and combine for 21 wins.

Ohio State has a tougher schedule, so they are ranked ahead of LSU.

Slice it however you'd like, hoss. Fact of the matter is there was no reason for OSU to jump LSU after last week's games. I could have seen it after (IF) they beat Michigan this week, but last week shouldn't have done it. And for the record, Massey is one of several computer-based programs that are used to determine SOS, and they all differ significantly.

Then it wouldn’t have happened in the vast majority of systems included in the Massey Composite, including mine. The reason tOSU skipped LSU is so obvious to those of us who are more informed that we predicted it last week.

So not when tOSU beats a team seven wins better than the team LSU beat, but yes when tOSU beats a team two games better? Come on.

FYI “Massey” and “Massey Composite” are two different things.

ETA: We good, hoss?

I agree 100% with this.

A loss to Clemson will only hurt us. We aren't Bama. Our losses count and they hurt bad.

Agree, but I always think that ability of ranking schedules is pretty crappy.

For instance, which is harder to go undefeated against -

OOC games against-

1 top 5 team and two teams that only win 1 game?

Or 3 teams that finish 6-6?

If you're number 1, you should have no problem with 3 6-6 teams and they really aren't that much more trouble than a 1-10 team. Its much more likely that you lose to one top team.

Thus, strength of schedule should always be based upon % chance a team goes undefeated or similar.

Point to the year(s) LSU got burned by a tough OOC schedule.

Not interested in cherry-picking in hypotheticals. I’ll count and consider all games equally and draw conclusions from the data yielded thenceforth.

For most teams, it’s harder to go undefeated against tOSU’s schedule than against LSU’s schedule, and that’s why tOSU’s opponents have a better combined record.

Maybe LSU’s schedule is harder for LSU than tOSU’s schedule would be, but it’s unproductive to tailor our critiques to each unique team. That’s called bias .

Nothing’s stopping you from undertaking this project.

I was thinking that too because of the cumulative effect of tOSU picking up 2 top 10-15 wins but I wasn't calculating or looking at the computers, i'm not sure of the committee does as well.

Me and a friend predicted it at the Ole Miss game, though we were ticked off JRP was running up and down the field on us

A loss to a good Clemson team early in the year won’t matter. Who tf wants to watch LSU play Hellen Keller university? Damn some of y’all have nothing but a slit between your legs.
