Several shootings last night in NBR. It’s an epidemic.

Map of homicides:

LINK

Unless you actually live in NBR, the homicides have zero effect on your life. None. People acting like "living in Baton Rouge" is dangerous are either ignorant or willfully obtuse.

If not for New Orleans Baton Rouge would be the murder capital shithole of the world.

Baton Rouge is a dangerous shithole.

BR had the 38th highest violent crime rate in the US in 2018. Still not really a list that you want to be on. Plenty of other OT favorites are on there too.

If you live in North Baton Rouge, sure. If you are in any of the other 75% of the city, you have very little to worry about. I've lived in Baton Rouge for a decade and a half and have never been in the least bit concerned for my safety, and I *gasp!* frequently spend evenings downtown and on Government.

Again, ignorant or willfully obtuse.

That's not the issue and you are correct about the zero effect. I do not want to pay all of these taxes to put lipstick on a pig. If NBR and its developers want the rest of us (as long as I am still part of BR) to take them seriously, it all starts with a change in the people...not putting businesses up and saying "Look! A Chuck E. Cheese and a Bistro Byronz! Hurray murders will decrease!" We can use taxpayers dollars til the cows some home. Shenanigans will not subsist and all of the good that we pay forward will bite us in the arse.

Someone on this board said it best. A community like SG wants to become better and create better schools and communities and jobs...sue them! Another wants to kill and rob and loot and destroy...reward them!

Which is worse...being murdered or having to wake up every morning in St. George?

I really thought this was the Baws year. They had a solid defense and a good offense but looks like this will be a shutout by the far superior Baddun Rudge Pistols

BATON ROUGE - A person is dead Thanksgiving Day after his car was peppered with bullets near Plank Road Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the shooting was reported before 5 p.m. near the intersection of Choctaw Drive and Osceola Street. Police confirmed Thursday that the victim, Patrick Lawrence, had died in the hospital

Investigators say Lawrence was shot multiple times while inside his vehicle.

There are no known suspects or motives at this time.

fricking awful. I disagree with a lot of what josh said, but this is mainly 70805 and 70802.

But LSU and its surrounding campus are NOT part of NBR. And last I checked, there have been multiple crimes from murders to assaults to robberies. And now we want a bus system that directly connects NBR to LSU. Why?

If you count all year for StG compared to BTR just since the election, it’s 21-3 BTR out front.

I both live and work in Baton Rouge proper and am capable of reading a map. Do you meet both criteria, or are you just talking out of your arse?
