@misterAndyReid I miss how deeply weird College Football Final was with Lou Holtz and Mark May. Two true psychopaths just shouting nonsense at each other, and sometimes Rece Davis would wear judges robes for some reason. It was a real sight to behold each and every week.

Or just that whole mid 2000s era of espn coverage in general

I thought the OG CFB final was the college GameDay guys back on the set at 10pm or whatever.

It was like a late night comedy show for college football fans. Final Verdict, Ask Dr. Lou, Pep Talks, and the introduction of helmet stickers. Those were the days.

That was back when sports media emphasized the “sports” part and not the “media” part.

I remember 2007-08 Holtz would do his pep talk I believe at halftime of the Thursday night game for whichever team had a big game Saturday. Man what a time that was

The 90's we're great when Corso, Fowler and Beano Cook would spend about 30 minutes at the end of each Saturday just pouring over the entire day's games from coast to coast.

I still love College Football Final. Best part of my week is waking up Sunday morning and watching it.

The ACC wheel of destiny was spectacular as well. They should give Pat Mcaffe college football final.

As dumb as Holtz and May appeared to be, man that was great entertainment and now I appreciate it. These guys now are lame and I don’t even watch.

Mark May knew his football and played along mostly graciously with Lou Holz's nonsense.

Sorta like Herbstreit and Corso today.

I like both these pairings.

But Game Day at 3 hours is 1 hour too long.
