PSA - Don't Leave Your Laptop Bag in the Truck (again) [UPDATE] Bags Found No Laptops

Not that it is news, 2nd time in 3 years.
Been bringing the bag into the house since the first time, very seldom have I ever left it in the truck coming from work. Tonight I was taking my wife out for our 1 year anniversary, then met up with her friends near Kirby Ice House. Was there for an 1 hour and they smashed/grabbed the bag from the truck.
The biggest pain will be getting the back seat window replaced but at least it will match the other. Filed a report.
I'm just here to get kicked in the dick.
[UPDATE]
Got a call from a lady who's group occasionally cleans up a creek by their neighborhood. They found my bag and everyone else's in the creek. They found my contact info from my business cards inside the bag.
So I picked up my bag and everyone else bag that got hit last night. Apparently the thieves rummaged thru the bags, jacked the laptops and tossed them into a creek at the end of Billy St. The people that clean out the creek put them all in trash bags and asked if I could take them all. Looks like they (thieves) went thru everyone's bags shuffled thru someone's wallet left all the credit cards.
I had a envolope with a check already deposited thru my phone app sitting in my bag. Couldnt tell unless you open the envolope, they left that untouched.
Basically they were looking for cash and electronics.
Eta: going to follow up with our friend to confirm his bag is with us and taking the rest to the police station.

Happened to me a few years ago on westheimer
Had my bag locked to the seat rails under the driver seat
They used bolt cutters on the cable lock
Found My bag minus laptop in the bushes, my passport was still in the bag

Dude next to me got snatched too, he left his car unlocked. I really don't find that believable though. I figure every car has auto locks and they lock automatically if left unlocked too long.

Any time I have my laptop backpack in my truck around Houston, I bring it inside with me to restaurant or whatever if I stop. The car burglaries are so prevalent.

You're right and I have before in the past. I slipped up one time and they got me. Got too relaxed.

I’m ok with this.
Atleast you don’t leave a gun in the vehicle like a dumb shite so it can get stolen.

criminals need to made to pay it back in cash, fix the repairs or pay cash (double for the inconvenience) and then sit in jail for a long time

I’ve either always brought it in, or more commonly I’ll hide it on the back seat floor board. Usually keep a blanket or jacket in tHe truck for that purpose.
