If you live in the greater BR area and like whisky let me know. I went to Scotland this year and tried nearly 90 whiskies while there. We do tastings 2-3 times a year. Just did one in October with 3 that can’t even be purchased in the states.

Better than Macallan

Lived in Glasgow for a year, Macallan the most prestigious by far but multiple Glens stack up well per the locals

I saw a Macallan 29 Year in Scotland for $1700 USD. It was at the nicest liquor store I've ever been to. Basically a library of Scotch called "Robbie's Drams" in Ayr, Scotland. The in store Connoisseur told me there were plenty of Scotches that were just as good to be had for a lower price. The 18 year was one he mentioned, along with a few others I can't recall. He referred to the 29 year as an overpriced mantle piece and laughed at the Americans that thought it was the end all be all of Scotch.

I apologize for what might be a stupid question for the connoisseur, but what is the difference between whisky and whiskey? Is it just European v American spelling or something else?

Whisky is Scotland’s word
Whiskey is Ireland, the USA & most of the rest of the world’s word for it.

My wife purchased this for me on a business trip to the UK. Very nice, rich and earthy with no bite across the pallette. Had it for several years now and had maybe four glasses.
