So I occasionally enjoy a martini or two (never more than two) - and I currently use an all stainless cocktail shaker that makes it impossible to get the lid off after it gets cold. Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternate that makes it easy to get the top off? I’ve seen a couple on Amazon with screw tops...what do y’all use that avoids this problem?

My go to. If you shake it too hard it can get a little messy.

I’ve been using my vintage one because the top screws off and it’s so large, plus I have 6 of the little glasses to match.

But for Christmas I’m getting this one:

I prefer screw top as well because I can’t get the others off without a fight.

Use a pint glass instead of the smaller stainless steel portion.

Or get a better quality stainless shaker:
Amazon

Get yourself a nice strainer if you dont have one.

For a martini, and assuming you are talking a Martini and not a Vodka OJ (olive juice) you really want to stir it. This isn’t because you might bruise the gin or something silly like that but because you can better control the dilution.

A stainless steel mixer, a long handled mixing spoon and a strainer is all you need. Now you can get in a rabbit hole quickly with strainers depending on different drinks but in general as long as it keeps the ice out the glass it will work.

Rule of thumb is if just mixing alcohols, stir.
If adding juice, milk, etc... shake.
