Need help with a movie.

I cannot for the life of me remember the name of a movie. It’s a scary/freaky movie from maybe the early 2000’s. It’s about someone being possessed (can’t remember if it was the lead actor maybe). I remember him being in his house and he starts writing/painting this shite on his wall that he has no idea what it is. Turns out to be some demonic shite. I know it has some priests and stuff involved too.

It's not "The Rite" is it? I don't remember a scene with painting on a wall, but I haven't seen that in a long time.
Also, "The Last Exorcism" had a demonic writing on the wall scene, although it came out in 2010.
