Nothing from Villeneuve made the list or even the honorable mentions. Incendies, Prisoners, Sicario, Arrival, and Blade Runner 2049 all being left out is surprising.

Damn I could have sworn I saw Sicario on there. That's a glaring omission considering it was nominated for a bunch of Oscars.

I have to say that this list is pretty terrible but I want to enjoy a movie, not have it tell me how I suck.
In what ways did Fury Road, Boyhood, A Separation, Camera person, Once upon a Time in Hollywood, Melancholia, Silence, Inside Out, and let's just say all the rest of those 25 tell you how you suck?
I don't think any of them are explicitly about people who make silly comments on the internet. Inside Out might touch on it.

if you consider 3 to be a bunch, then yea, but none in the major categories (picture, acting, director, writing)
As for the list, I agree with a few of the picks, but overall it looks like a list someone would make to try and prove that they are a serious film connoisseur

Top 10 in no order except #1 and #2:
1) Whiplash
2) MacGruber
3) Prisoners
4) Ex Machina
5) About Time
6) Fury Road
7) Warrior
8) Social Network
9) Wolf of Wall Street
10) A Pigeon Sitting on a Bench Reflecting on Existence
And yes, the last one was included over a few other potential #10's (mostly Edge of Tomorrow) so as to not be so "mainstream".

My three favorites as of this time,
-Manchester by the Sea
-The Social Network
-Three Billboards outside Ebbing Missouri (surprised I'm the first one to mention it)
Someone mentioned The Big Sick earlier. Wouldn't put it in my top 10, but it might be the best romantic comedy of the decade.

Of course Terrence Malick has to be mentioned *rolls eyes*
Maybe I just didn't "get it" but that movie was difficult to watch and follow. Guess I'm not an art house movie kind of guy.

This X 100. Every time someone posts some love song about him I always post that every movie of his is like this...
Rain drop on leaves
Narrator/Actor: "I am here"
close up of an eye
"are you here"
Dinosaurs
"are we here"
baby in the womb
"can you hear me"
actor walking with feet in water
"can you feel me"
beautiful landscape in fast motion from sunrise to sunset
"are we one? or are we not even a thought?"
dead animal fast motion rots into maggots into dust
"are you mine?"
end credits....

I didn't realize the 2010s sucked that bad.

When I saw Star Wars: The Last Jedi in the honorable mentions I knew the list was going to be a fun ride.

Good call. Loved that movie but it seems to have faded from the view of most people since I don’t think it is streaming anywhere

If Inception and Gravity are not on this list (which they are not), then the list is crap. Also, no comedies (The Hangover, Bridesmaids).
Typical critic BS

Gravity sucked
Inception had its issues. I enjoyed it but I wouldn’t put it tops of the decade

Counting honorable mentions, I've seen 29 of these.
It's a mixed bag. I agree with a lot of them, disagree with a few, specifically the prisoner of the moment more recent ones.

Hell or High Water
Sicario
Tree of Life
Moonrise Kingdom
Room
are my top 5 in no order.
I would separate animated movies out because it's just so hard to compare, but Inside Out and Coco both stand on the mountaintop with the classics of the past.
Silence and The Master deserve no part of that top 25. The Master should be the go-to example for a film being able to have incredible acting, good writing, and good direction, but ultimately not amounting to anything memorable or interesting. The story needed a major hook and PTA needed to be severely curtailed in the editing room. Instead, we got those awesome auditing scenes and the jail cell scene and about 2h20m of pablum.
