Thoughts about defense and Tua?

It seems that Tua will play, and I’m curious about the Board’s opinion.
It’s fair to say that the Tigers’ defense has been “spotty”. Will the staff come up with a scheme to deal with a Tua led offense?
You guys feeling confident?

Tua feasts off the slants and his receivers getting insane amounts of Yards after catch.
Id expect man coverage most of the game.
But getting pressure on Tua is huge.
The SEC's best downfield passers when under pressure per Depth Adjusted Accuray% -min 14 att
1. Burrow 77.6%
**Yuge Drop**
2. Bryant 46.6%
3. Trask 46.5%
4. Fromm 44.1%
5. Starkel 39.9%
6. Mond 39.4%
7. Guarantano 38.6%
8. Wallace 37.7%
9. Shrader 36.3%
10. Tagovailoa 35.8%

Yes, this is football once that whistle blows it is war and in war you look for the enemies weak spots and you test them.
Look for LSU to test his surgically repaired ankle by making him run on it as much as LSU can force him to do so!

No, it isn't.
LSU is the 19th ranked total defense in the country. #14 in rushing defense. Have they been as good as previous years? No. We are 3rd in total defense in the SEC behind only Georgia and Alabama and have played against much tougher offensive competition. I feel confident enough in the defense that they will do what they have to do to be somewhat disruptive. I'm not as confident, however, that the team can avoid stupid penalties. (Late hits, Unsportsmanlike Conduct, etc.)

I think the offense better not stall in the red zone.

We pretty much shut down Auburn and MSU in our most recent games.
So that's promising even though they aren't close to Bamas offense.
I'm concerned about Delpits injury. If he's healthy, expect some sensational play from him.
Stingley will also have many opportunities to shine.

UGA jammed their WR's and shut Tua down. Hurts had to save the day in the 2nd half. Clemson did some of that but mixed in zone too. Clemson also seemed to jump a lot of the shorter routes like they knew it was coming.

LSU's defense gets a bad rap. They outrank Bama, Aubarn and FLA.

Its going to be very interesting to see if he has the ability to extend plays with his feet under pressure this weekend.

It kinda is, though. At least our secondary. We're only holding opponents to ~97% of the passing averages. If we do that vs Bama we're going to bleed a lot of points.
Thankfully we have an equally threatening passing game.
This should be a shootout, barring QB injuries and tons of turnovers.

Having been an athlete and having a similar injury to Tua, this is what I think will happen
Tua's front ankle is the one that's sprained. He'll definitely play, but that ankle is going to be a bit weaker than normal. He will not want to jar it much or make cuts on it and he won't want to put much weight on it.
His ankle will not effect his short throws, but it will definitely effect his deep ball. When you chunk a ball you put a lot of force on your front foot. Not wanting to put weight on his front ankle is going to make him under-throw balls. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a couple INTs from this.
There's also a lot of twisting on the front foot when you chunk a ball like that.

Do you think he will have a funfetti cake as his groom's cake as well?

I think you like funfetti cake more than I do.

I doubt it. I'm getting married in Jan, and I'm not having a funfetti groom's cake. So, I think you got me.
Idk why, but I found that hilarious. Maybe one day it will stop being as funny, and I'll shut up. But I'm not there yet.

Stevens said in his interview that they were working on stuff for Bama's scheme. He was also like "I'm not going to tell you what specifically we are doing" to the media.
