So a home win against a garbage Cincinnati team is considered more impressive in the eyes of the committee than a hostile road win against a Texas team that at the time had national championship hope and belief still intact. Texas would be a favorite over Cincinnati if they played tomorrow.

The sooner they move to 8 teams the better. This subjective 4 team shite is ridiculous. I’m not arguing that Texas is that “good” but there are about 15 of the top 25 teams that would’ve lost in Austin that night we played em

And, of course, wins over the #10 and #11 teams on the CFP rankings.

No the fact they have blown everyone’s doors off and they are benefiting from cincy having only one loss and Indiana 7-2...they also crushed Wisconsin. No reason for us to be upset it doesn’t really matter we still need to just win.

you can't just cherry pick your W/L. Texas is a better win but, Georgia Southern & Northwestern are not...

Agree. They shite on Texas on the road but talked up Indiana.

It’s so fricking nonsensical. We deserve the #1 spot based on resume. There is clout that comes from holding it even for a week.

It doesn’t matter in the grand scheme, but I’m not sure what else a team can do to say they’ve “earned” it. I’ve felt like this run has been similar to the 2011 run.

But Chase Young is disruptive.

Why do you imbeciles keep saying this about Ga. Southern? They aren’t a bad team.

Northwestern St and Vandy are killing our SOS

I’m not saying that LSU should be #1 over Ohio St. I don’t care that Ohio St. is #1, they’ve looked the best. But to tell me that Cincinnati is some great win just because their only loss is to Ohio St.... Cincinnati is terrible, have you watched them play?

it’s not just beating teams like Cincy, Indiana, and Wisconsin.

it’s beating the living shite out of them.

They skull fricked Wisconsin by a larger margin than we beat Miss State or Vandy.

To add on... Texas has 3 losses. One to the #2 team and one to the #9 team and TCU. They are 5-3 overall. Unranked in initial CFB playoff poll.

Oklahoma St. also 5-3 overall. CFB initial Playoff ranking is #23

Texas beat Oklahoma St. by the way.

Explain that for me, for those that want to talk about SOR and SOS. Whatever happened to results on the frickin field

We’re #2 and youre outraged Ohio St is #1 and think it would be better if there were 8 teams. That makes no sense

Read my post again. Does it say anything about LSU deserving to be #1, or being upset about being #2? I was specifically talking about the committees view on Cincinnati vs their view on Texas.

Indiana 7-2... Wins over: Ball State (4-4), FCS Eastern Illinois (0-9), UCONN (2-7), Rutgers (2-7), Maryland (3-6), Nebraska (4-5) & Northwestern (1-7)......

The idea the committee sees this as a 'quality win' is garbage....

Take your collective asses out of the SEC circlefrick.

Cincinnati is a GOOD football team. Not "good for G5", good, plain and simple. Cincinnati is a top 20 football team. Texas is not.

one team is 7-2 with a loss to the #1 team in the country

one team is 5-3 with a loss to TCU

Yes it does matter. And yes, it is an opinion.

All rankings are based on a combination of opinions put together to masquerade as some kind of fact.

I didn't need you to post a link. I didn't doubt that the OP was telling the truth about what he saw. My question is how do you explain that ranking? A simple observation of who each team has played tells an entirely different story.

But we are supposed to give credence to teams like Cincinnati and Indiana, who have beaten no one, as being impressive wins for Ohio State? Mississippi State would be no worse than a 2 loss team if they played the schedule that Cincy and Indiana have played. The strength of schedule rankings are clearly awarding more points for records than they are actual strength of opponents.

That's the subjective nature of such "rankings". But why am I taking the time to explain this to you? You'll say what you did in the other thread, and tell me you didn't read it. How convenient.

So a weak metric is how they decide. And eye test says Chase Young is pretty good. ??

Wisconsin vs Florida
Indiana vs Auburn
Cincinnati vs Texas

Those are the games that tell the tale at this point.
