I mean let’s see what a game looks like for teams that matter
Large fans with big fanbases

Not the Texans and Jaguars

Let’s see how a Giants Cowboys or a Patriots Steelers game would do
Over there

I would bet anything that the NFLPA would come out strongly against this. Not that they would have any actual real say about it, but they can still voice their opinions and i would be that they would oppose a franchise in London.

The new CBA could be the key determining factor

If I were the owners, I'd dangle more $$$, no MJ testing, and an additional bye week in order for the NFLPA to agree to an 18 game schedule, and a team in London

I guess the NFL will have to learn how to handle things from Super Rugby (who has teams in South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and Argentina). Pro14 now has teams in South Africa now after largely being multi country European based and has even looked at putting teams in North America.

Thank you

All I've been saying is that if time zones were such a huge concern for the NFL then London wouldn't be in consideration. I'm not debating any other factors that go into it because there are plenty

and you think that's what the people in charge look at? They look at the UK and see money

That's a really good question. The response is that the NFL is not adding any new teams. You will still only have 32 meaning you are not "watering down" the product.

NFL Owners are successful capitalists. And like all successful capitalists, they want the highest return for their investment. IMO the greatest ROI is in London

This is the exact mindset that dooms so many companies.

Not only that, but NFL franchise values are so outrageous that if anyone actually did want to sell to realize that ROI, they pretty much have to explore global options.

I'm not disagreeing with you in that regard. I totally get that. Still doesn't change the fact that they don't "NEED" to do it.

If that is really the objective...to get the highest ROI and if "time change" isn't a concern, then why aren't all the owners considering moving their teams all over the world? I mean why not have a team in Tokyo? Why not have a team in Shanghai? Where does it stop?

This is the only strong point they have going into negotiations. And if they don't use it, they are more fricked than they already are.

NFL teams have insurance for lost seasons/games, via a strike or work shortage. Players lose everything in a strike. NFLPA had leverage years ago, and whizzed it away on stupid shite. MLBPA had all the power, after the collusion stuff, and whizzed it away on better hotel rooms, food before and after games, silly shite like that.

NFLPA is in for a big fight this time, they lose again, they won't ever win a thing, unless they give up 3-5 other things. They must make London the NFL's Waterloo.

From all accounts being a Major League Baseball player is pretty grueling, I wouldn’t say added amenities is silly at all.

I recommend you go look at Matt Antonelli’s YouTube video series on the subject.

Being a "Minor League" player is a grind. MLB players are pampered like Kings.

And they pissed away ALL their leverage on stupid shite. And have been called out by other MLB players for it. They allowed prissy players, who wanted more comfort over real issues to take over. And MLB has ALL the power, yet again.

If the NFL wants a team in London allow the jaguars to split between Jacksonville and London, 4 games in each spot with a home base in Florida for operations

The idea is for the Chargers future location, not just placing a random team in London

MLB, NHL, and NBA all have teams in Canada, so I'm sure it wouldn't be all that different for the NFL to be in London except for the travel difference is much greater for a game in London vs one in Canada.

Also, what about the "front office"? Would scouts and other support personnel want to move to the UK? What laws govern their continued US citizenship? Would keeping a remote office in the US make sense?
