You're not weird at all. When you attend class at a university, they are your team and superseed everything else.

My college loyalties will always go:

1. Tulane
2. A school that I take grad classes from

It's not like I'm picking the Warriors. Pels haven't won shite. All they have going for them is unrealized hype. How is that bandwagon?

This might be why it's not quite clicking with the Pelicans and why I'm still drawn to follow the Magic. Shaq was from LSU but my first ever NBA jersey was Penny and I followed them through those years to T-Mac and Grant Hill (sort of), the magic that was Bo Outlaw, Turkoglu, Darrell "Mighty Mouse" Armstrong, Anthony Bowie calling a timeout at the end of a Pistons game so he could get a gimme assist to complete his triple double, causing Detroit to not even put players on the court and walking off without the handshake. We go way back.

Not a team, but I started pulling for Cam Newton when the hatred of him started to get irrational. It was relatively easy.

How difficult was it rooting for the Cavaliers then the Heat, back to the Cavaliers and then across the country to the Lakers?

I imagine that was had to do.

Just pull for both. It's not like they are bitter rivals.

When I’ve moved, I haven’t really changed teams. I just adopted another one. When I moved to L.A years ago, I sure as hell didn’t
drop the Saints. I did adopt the Clippers, because some colleagues had season tickets and it was the first year they made the playoffs.

I’ve lived in NY the last 5 teams and haven’t switched my teams
Probably should since they’re more successful but I’ve been pulling for those teams all my life

It’s called staying loyal to LeBron.

I somewhat pulled for SKC for about 3-4 years until Atlanta United started. It was easy to make the switch because Atlanta became the only team within 7 hours from me.

All of my other allegiances have stayed the same since I started watching their league/sport.

I was a big Laker fan. Kobe came and after the tape incident, him snitching in the burger players and just his general douche bag status.... I stopped

Clippers for last 10 plus years

I've never stopped cheering for a team, except maybe the Braves if they counted. I liked them and the Astros growing up in LA, but only ever went to Astros games since we traveled to Houston a lot back then.

I'll root for the Texans now that I live here, but I don't feel bad when they lose and would never cheer for them over the Saints.

This is true.

NFL: As a kid in the 80's I was a Cowboys fan. Growing up in Iowa you don't have an allegiance to a local pro team. Bounced around but settled in on the Bears because it's my dad's team. I still don't have a die hard NFL team but I cheer for the Bears because of that and the Patriots because a buddy of mine played for the.

MLB: My dad was a Dodger fan so that is who I cheered for. But once I got old enough it became the Cubs. WGN, listening to every game on the radio. The Cubs are my #1 team of any team anywhere. This one came organically.

CFB: Grew up a dual Iowa and Notre Dame fan (Catholic). I still cheer for ND but my favorite team is Iowa, by far. I've cried, got pissed, got drunk over losses (yes, stupid) but Iowa is my home state. CFB is more difficult because I played at South Dakota so that is my alma mater and where my allegiance lies. Having an FCS team as your #1 team is different.

NHL: Blackhawks, but there is so much Minnesota Wild coverage around me I watch almost every game and know everything about the team. They're taking over, and they suck, so no bandwagon.

When you live in a place that is neutral territory for pro sports allegiance to pro teams us different.

Yes when the Hornets left Charlotte I refused to pull for the bobcats, I became an Atlanta Hawks fan since they were the next closet team. When the Hornets came back to Charlotte I switched back.
